Performing Arts students enjoyed a great evening out at in Woodbridge this week to see ‘9 to 5 The Musical’, starring our very own dance teacher, Ms Scott! It was a fantastic opportunity to experience live theatre, gain inspiration for their own performances, and support a member of the Finborough Performing Arts team in action on stage!

A huge congratulations to Ms Scott and the entire cast and crew on a brilliant production!

What a beautiful afternoon for our awesome Prep 1 and 2 footballers to be hosting Culford for the return leg of their mini-football tournament today!

It was lovely to see so many parents from both schools support these budding young players who showed enthusiasm, excitement and determination on the pitch.

Congratulations to Amber who has been named U13 Suffolk County Coaches Player 25/26 as part of the Players Pathway Awards.

The coaches said ‘Amber is a great team player, her warm and friendly nature has made her someone the other girls look up to in the Academy. She always gives 100%…Amber has real versatility, not only in the centre court, but as a circle defender having developed her defensive skills.’

Well done Amber, very well deserved!

During the last week of the half term we were excited to welcome West End performer (aka Greaseball from Starlight Express) to Finborough!

Students in both Prep and Senior School enjoyed taking part in workshops where they had the opportunity to ask questions as well as learning dance routines.

Our Performing Arts scholars enjoyed an intimate lunch with Olivia where they gained valuable insights into life on stage along with the challenges and highlights that accompany working in the industry.

Opportunities like this both excite and inspire the children. We embrace musical theatre at Finborough and the educational value it brings through storytelling alongside personal, historical and cultural exploration, not to mention the benefits to students communication skills and confidence.

Thank you Olivia for taking the time to visit us!

On Friday over 40 students and 19 staff, parent helpers and volunteers headed to Wales for the annual (and legendary) Finborough x Duke of Edinburgh trip!

This is so much more than a co curricular activity, it’s where memories are made, challenges are met head on (and overcome) and bonds are built that endure long after the students return.

The Wales trip is not a requirement of the Duke of Edinburgh Programme, it’s something we host to bring our whole DofE community together, providing opportunities for students to practise skills they will need to qualify, as well as practising skills they will need for life. It’s the epitome of a character focused education.

From hiking to white water rafting, canoeing to gorge walking, it was an action packed few days in the great outdoors. Camp fires and talking late into the night are memories that our young adults (and not so young adults), treasure.

The scenery, camaraderie, challenge and good old fashioned fun on this trip is always nourishing for the soul and this year was no exception. Thank you to our wonderful staff and volunteers for making it happen. We can’t wait for next year!

Wow, what a show. Well 6 shows actually and they raised the roof each time. In the words of Mr Clark, ‘utter joy’.

Prep 1 had a wonderful day at Colchester castle today, exploring artefacts, completing challenges, walking the ruins, learning all about medieval life… and of course, visiting the gift shop!

These trips, linked closely to what they are learning in the classroom, help to build confidence and nourish enquiring young minds.

A huge well done to tennis students on their fantastic recent selections, performances and results in LTA events this year. It has been wonderful to see them representing the school across the county and country with such skill, determination and positive attitude.

We are all incredibly proud of what they have achieved so far.
