Band Academy

We had a blast with our first day of Summer studio sessions at the start of the holidays ☀️

3 groups of students came together and during their 2 hour sessions recreated Shotgun by George Ezra. They layered guitar, drums, keyboard and vocals together to create their song and once it was all mixed together received their recording to keep!

What an end to the school year - a student surprised their whole band with personalised bracelets for their group PopFest 👏🥹

It’s wonderful after 10 years of teaching to still be surprised. At how thoughtful and kind a year 2 student can be, at how keen they are to help others or to make their day.

It is a privilege to work with these amazing students each day, and to constantly be reminded of what is actually important - thank you!

Our Summer studio sessions are booking up fast 😱

We currently have two days of sessions running in the holidays - Monday the 27th of July and Friday the 21st of August 🤘🏻

Students will have the chance to work in a small band to record and produce a cover, learning how to capture, edit and mix their instruments and vocals.

We’ve had some intense practice sessions this week, getting bands really confident for their upcoming performances. They have parts and structures and crowd participation to remember too!

But over the next few weeks as they experience the buzz of playing live to a crowd, all that practice will be worth it 😁

It’s been great to get sessions back underway after the Easter holidays and the bands are working hard to make the Summer term their best yet!

We’ll be bringing you lots of backstage insight into these awesome bands, so keep your eyes peeled!

It’s crazy to think that we’re coming into the final term of the school year but we’re busy prepping to make it the best one yet. We’ve got new songs, big performances and lots to learn along the way.
