The first co-educational cohort, and the first girls to take GCSEs at OSH have achieved superb results!

90% of all students have achieved at least five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English and Maths which is remarkable! One in five grades are at 9 and 8, 35% of all grades are 9-7, and the overall pass rate is 89%.

Particular successes sit with the Maths Department where 45% of students achieved top Grades of 9-8, and in almost 60% in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. There’s cause for celebration in Geography too which saw 12% of students gain Grade 9, and 20% Music and 34% RE students reach Grades 9-8.

While these are tremendous results, today is not all about the grades but also a celebration of this tenacious, resilient and ambitious of this group of young people. They have cemented their position in OSH history for not only being the first girls to move through our classrooms and boarding houses, but also to have embraced every opportunity, fully immersed themselves into OSH life, and fundamentally evolved our community for the better. They have spearheaded what is now means to be an OSH student, and paved the way for those to follow.

We wish those leaving OSH the very best for the future and look forward to seeing those returning, and indeed joining the Sixth Form, in September.

We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our neighbours and community with the donations in support of those affected by the horrendous Stourbridge fires.

Thanks to you all, we now have more than enough supplies to support those housed with us, and families affected who are displaced elsewhere. Therefore, we kindly ask you not to bring donations to OSH and instead please consider supporting other local causes.

Our heartfelt thanks to you all, and to Dudley Council and the emergency services personnel for their huge efforts. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected.

Year 13 have much to celebrate, and many congratulations are due to this very talented and hard-working group of young people. We wish them every happiness and success in their lives after OSH and thank them all for the many contributions they made during their time here.

29% of all A level grades are at A or A*, which is above regional and national levels! The Maths Department has done particularly well with 43% of all grades at A*/A and 75% for Further Maths. OSH Geographers and Computer Scientists are also celebrating as 40% and 36% respectively of all grades are also at A*/A. Plus, with 19 subjects achieving a 100% pass-rate (including A level Arabic and Russian, and the EPQ), the Class of 2026 have achieved the school’s strongest results since the A level reforms in 2015!

We are delighted to announce planning permission has been granted for the construction of a new Reception Centre and Sports Changing Facilities.

Marking another significant investment in the school’s estate and future development, the new building will provide a welcoming main reception for pupils, parents, staff and visitors, alongside modern changing accommodation designed to support the school’s extensive sporting programme. The development has been carefully designed to enhance the arrival experience while providing high-quality facilities that meet the needs of the school community for many years to come.

Construction is expected to commence in Autumn 2026, with completion anticipated during 2027.

Just the other week we welcomed back to the UK our returning rugby tourists, who have built lifelong memories in South Africa. Our musicians have done the same, and are now getting a well-deserved rest following their performances and long coach journey back from the Salzburgerland and the Tyrol. Interact complete a record breaking year; more records fell at Sports Day and DofE and CCF numbers have never been higher.

There are also several messages of thanks to Mr. Paul Kilbride for his 12 years of service to OSH, and a first message from incoming Headmaster Mr. Graeme Wright.

Congratulations to the young people of OSH on their successes both this term and this year; and we them and all of our readers a wonderful summer 🌞

Following Saturday's Prizegiving, we are delighted to announce the new 2026/27 OSH Prefect Team!

Led by Heads of School Eddie and Mary, and Deputies John and Millie, the new team were officially engowned during the celebration.

Congratulations to them all and we look forward to the year ahead.

Breaking news: Our U15A boys and girls cricket teams are 2026 regional champions!

Both teams both produced fantastic performances to win their respective regional finals yesterday in the Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup. They now move on as Worcestershire Champions and will compete against Gloucester and Hereford champions for a place in the National Finals. Well done all 👏🔵⚪️
