Hello,

I'm Jacquie, a private tutor of all aspects of English, from Year 7 through to undergraduate. I can help your child (or you) to read and write better, improve grades in exams, or (perhaps most important of all) gain increased confidence in English.

I have a first class degree in English Literature, a Masters in Language and Literature, and a PhD (2011) in Shakespeare's language, all from Russell Group universities. I ran a very successful GCSE English resit programme at a local FE college for 5 years, but have also taught both Language and Literature at Russell Group universities.

I am a principal examiner for A level (I write the exam papers), so have expert knowledge of what examiners are looking for.

I have 28 years' teaching experience, and over 11 years' experience as a full-time private tutor. I teach all boards, all levels, and all ability levels, including pupils coping with dyslexia.

In uncertain times such as these, school pupils need extra help to steady them, keep them motivated, and to prepare them to achieve the very best results they can in exams. That's what I do.

Lessons are either face-to-face (in Stourbridge, West Midlands) or online (I use Skype because I prefer the document-sharing, but Zoom is possible).
