After a quick break from classes, we return to normal on Saturday.

⭐️ Remi is this week’s dance star! ⭐️
Great work from our Mini Mover Remi in class last week! Remi was very determined to receive dance star and worked so hard that it paid off as she got to spend the week with Rainbow! 🧸🌈
Remi showed great skills during class whilst practising her Contemporary dancing. Remi especially loved the leaping exercise and was very good at it too ☺️
Well done Remi. Keep up the fantastic work! ⭐️🌈

🧑🩰 Leaping into the Weekend 🧑🩰
During Saturday’s class, our Mini Groover’s and Dance Diva’s began learning a new Contemporary dance piece ready for future performance opportunities!
We started class with a warm up followed by centre work to focus on our pirouettes, and then continued with the development of our Contemporary technqiue with corner work performing leaps, step kicks and chassé steps. 🐸☺️
Great work from our dancers on these exercises. We can see the improvement of placement, alignment and flexibility already! 👏🏽

💥 Technique Before Choreography💥
This morning, our Dance Queen’s loved taking on single time and double time drills, exploring classic Hip-Hip moves such as the Bart Simpson, Cabbage Patch, and ATL Stomp.
What is a drill you ask?
A drill is a repetitive exercise that helps dancers to develop the core skills needed for dance styles.
The Hip-Hop drills that our Dance Queen’s learnt this morning helped to improve their timing, groove, co-ordination, and understanding of the Hip-Hop technique. 👏🏽💨🪩
The training of these drills builds foundations for our dancers before learning choreography! 🔁

We are introducing classes to progress our tricks and skills as well as body conditioning to really learn the importance of warm ups and cool downs and benefits of improving our flexibility 🙆🏽♀️🤸🏽♀️

Entrar Dance is a dance school based in the Norton/Stourbridge area that runs every Saturday morning at St Michael’s Church all year round. For all levels and ages, we offer styles in hip hop, ballet, jazz and contemporary. 👯
Our aim is to encourage physical movement/skills through dancing whilst learning different techniques and styles to help develop expressive skills, confidence, creativity and build friendships 🤸🪩🧑🩰
At Entrar Dance, we focus providing performance opportunities and offer a supportive space our dancers to express themselves through movement every week. No exams, no syllabus. Just a space to dance and have the most fun! 😀💜

Unfortunately, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel Saturday’s dance classes again due to the excessive heat in the hall. As our classes are very physical, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our dancers must come first.
