The children had a fabulous time celebrating the queen’s jubilee. We had our own street party with jelly and cakes made by the children. They also made crowns and flags to wave. Afterwards the children played on a bouncy castle, slides and ball pits and lots of bubbles. Have a good weekend everyone 🇬🇧

With all the sunshine and rain our plants have been growing. We had fun planting them and looking after them, now we get to compare and measure height, see how they change, predict what might happen next and hopefully eat some of them soon. In our busy bee class they have been reading Jack and the beanstalk and watching their beans grow. The children were interested in all the different parts of the plant and have now taken them home to plant.

To all Browns Lane Pre-school Parents since 1996

I will be retiring in July 2021 and Danielle Wheatley will become the new owner. Browns Lane Pre-school has been like a second home to me for the last twenty five years, and I will miss it very much.
I first started in August 1996 when it was already a lovely playgroup and a few of the original children have returned with their own children, which is lovely to see. After two years at Browns Lane I developed a very serious illness, but the children, who always need your immediate attention, aided my recovery as they took my mind off my illness and problems.
Later on I had to find alternative premises for the pre-school as the old hall was going to be demolished and the lovely new building we now have was built. All parents and the staff worked together moving everything to the Priory in Storrington and we stayed there for two or three years.
I have seen and learnt a lot from being involved with many children and their families. It has certainly been a time of ups and downs but mainly ups.
Danielle, a qualified teacher, will take over from September 1st 2021. I would like to thank her and all the staff who have done a marvellous job over the last year, especially with Covid.
I would find it difficult not spending any time with your little ones, after all these years, so I hope to come back as a volunteer and help with snack time, christmas play etc.
My husband isn't in the best of health so I do need to spend a little more time with him.
A Very Big Thank you to all my past and present staff, parents and their children for your continued support and friendship.

Thank you to the lovely lady from the guides who organised clearing the area around the large tree at the front of the hall. The children love being outside and use this area a lot. It may just look like a shady place to sit but it is also a den to hide in, a place to climb and balance, an imaginary castle, a land for dinosaurs, a place to search for mini beasts and so much more.
