Natural Ai ,UI Update 🌿

Finding those random little glitches and getting every screen aligned across different phones took a bit of brainpower today! However, making the app look crisp, clear, and effortless to use on the trail makes every minute worth it.

​We’ve just rolled out a fresh layout update for Natural AI to make your outdoor explorations smoother and more enjoyable.

​Here’s what’s new in the app today:

​Cleaner Home Layout: Reorganized main hubs like ID Anything, Gaia’s Web, 3D Generator, Sightings Map, and Bird by Sound so you can jump straight to what you need.

​Easier to Read & Navigate: Higher contrast, clearer icon buttons, and smooth navigation across Identify, Explore, My Journal, and 3D & AR View.

​Squashed the Glitches: Fixed those annoying layout bugs so switching between wildlife identification and spatial maps feels nice and snappy.
​When you're out exploring a nature spot or walking down a local trail, the technology should work seamlessly in the background so you can stay focused on enjoying the environment.

A Hidden Gem in Passenham!

​I had the most amazing time visiting St Guthlac's Church today. It’s absolutely packed with local history and is such a beautiful place.

A lovely couple (they actually live in the old converted pub, that i used to take the old note,"packet of No 6 and bottle of old english" lol) showed me around, and they’ve got a fantastic fundraiser going on.

​They are working hard to make this wonderful space accessible to everyone, with plans for:
​♿ A new path for disabled access
🚽 Indoor toilets
🍴 A small kitchen area

​As a retired builder, I know how much love and care it takes to update a building like this, especially when they don’t even have running water right now! The current Vicar is an incredible 99 years old and still takes services, how amazing would it be if we could help get that path ready for him to safely walk on for his 100th birthday?!

​If you’d like to support this brilliant cause and see this piece of history for yourself, they are having a Heritage Weekend soon!

South West Water has been fined a record £7.8 million for polluting beaches across Devon and Cornwall.

Our investigation found that hundreds of sewage spills took place over six years at bathing spots and some of our most sensitive habitats.

Building in the open:
A quick Natural AI update 🛠️🌿

​As an independent local tech project, every milestone feels huge and today we’ve got a cool one to share!

​Gaia’s Web (our interactive 3D Earth and nature map) is now live for dev testing inside the Natural AI app! It’s still rough around the edges while we refine the interface, but the main engine is up, running, and routing smoothly.

​I actually have a huge stack of new 3D Gaussian Splats ready to drop into the map, but I wanted to make sure the underlying pipeline and "bones" of the project were rock solid first. Now that the core system is functioning, we’ll be adding plenty more 3D digital twins of local rivers, woodland trails, and historic spots very soon!

​You can test out the early build right now: launch the full spatial map straight from the app settings screen, orbit the planet, and zoom down into local 3D models of churches, parklands, and landmarks around MK.

​Go check it out in the app settings tab under 'Gaia's Web' (in development) and tell us what you think! Every bit of community testing helps us build a better tool for local nature exploration. 🌍📱

First scan of Millennium Circle!

​Did you know this fascinating spot near Willen Lake is actually a blend of ancient traditions? 🇬🇧🪶

​Known as the Circle of Hearts Medicine Wheel (or the Milton Keynes Millennium Stone Circle), it was built by local volunteers in 2000 to mark the new millennium as a global symbol of healing, peace, and unity.

​The design combines traditional British stone circles with Native American Medicine Wheel symbolism, built using 108 local limestone blocks sourced from nearby Weston Underwood. Native American chiefs from the Onondaga tribe even came to Milton Keynes to bless the stones during its creation!

​I captured a full 3D Gaussian Splat (3DGS) scan of the site so you can explore all the inner and outer stone rings up close from every angle.
