The little ones were incredibly creative at York House Yo-Yos this morning, making animal masks to use to sing along to Old MacDonald Had a Farm. The materials were sourced from the MK Scrapstore (Milton Keynes Play Association (MKPA)) and bamboo from my garden!

A huge thank you to Sarah for leading the barn dance. The children really enjoyed the counting and clapping. We look forward to more barn dances at future Yo-Yos.

See you at the next Yo-Yos group after the half-term break on Monday 24th February 2020 for our Hungry Caterpillar themed session.

Don't forget at Yo-Yos tomorrow it's Old MacDonald's hoedown. We'll be making these animal masks to use in the barn dance. And at the colouring table there will be paper and pencils for young ones to get creative making Valentine's cards.

There will be lots of toys and a fresh snack for babies and children to enjoy, as well as refreshments for grown ups.

Old MacDonald had a hoedown...

York House Yo-Yos would like to invite you and your little one to Old MacDonald’s Hoedown on Monday, 10th February. We will be celebrating the first half term of Yo-Yos with a barn dance led by the wonderful Sarah Malleson. Sarah will walk the children and grown ups through a simple dance using counting and repetition.

As usual there will be lots of toys, a fun Old MacDonald themed craft, a snack for children and refreshments for grown ups, all for just £2.50!

So bring your dancing shoes and check shirt, and come along for some good family fun.

9.30am - 11.30am, 10 February 2020, at York House Centre (Stony Stratford), for babies and children aged 0-4 years.

We are very excited to tell you that the fantastic folk at York House Centre (Stony Stratford) have kindly given York House Yo-Yos the use of this bed in the Community Gardens. As the weather warms up we will head outside with the little ones to get them busy digging in the soil, sowing seeds and caring for the plants. Hopefully we'll be able to enjoy the vegetables we grow for our snack time.

It would be wonderful to incorporate some of the crafts we make at Yo-Yos into the vegetable bed and use the Community Gardens for play, bug hunting and story telling sessions.

Yo-Yos gardening project will be launched at the session on the 9th of March. Each child will be able to sow sunflower seeds with the help of Judy from Stony in Bloom. The children will be able to watch their sunflower grow in the poly tunnel and then plant it in Community Gardens for everyone to enjoy.

We can't wait...

We'll be getting crafty at York House Yo-Yos tomorrow making these little penguins reusing materials from the Scrapstore (Milton Keynes Play Association (MKPA)).

There'll be lots of toys and a play area for babies, as well as a snack for children and fresh coffee for grown ups!

At Yo-Yos playgroup (formerly Little Cherubs) tomorrow playdough will be out at the craft table and little ones can enjoy watching and chasing bubbles.

At York House Yo-Yos on Monday we will be diving below the waves to explore the oceans. We'll be getting creative decorating jelly fish and colouring tropical fish in a seabed scene. Little ones can jump between the waves in a parachute game and listen to a fishy tale from the sea in story time.

There will also be lots of toys and play equipment. All children are welcome from 0 - 4 years old. There is tea and coffee for grown-ups and a fresh snack for children to enjoy.

York House Yo-Yos launches with a bang!

This morning York House Centre (Stony Stratford) was filled with the wonderful sounds of energetic young children and babies enjoying playing together. There was much music making merriment. We made shakers, guitars and drums, and joined in a singing session lead by two talented parents. It was fantastic to see many new families and familiar faces from Little Cherubs.

We look forward to seeing you all again at next weeks group on Monday 20th January 2020, York House Centre, 9.30am - 11.30am. There will be story time, as well as a craft activity, snack break and proper coffee!
