📚❤️ STONHAM STAFF READS 💙📚

It’s Thursday which means it’s time for Stonham Staff Reads! 📖✨

Each week, one of our staff members will be sharing a book they’ve enjoyed and recommending it to our school community.

We’re passionate about encouring our children to read for pleasure and discover the books, authors and stories that can spark a lifelong love of reading.

🧑‍🏫 This weeks reader: Mrs Grant

📖 Book: The Twits by Roald Dahl

❤️Why I like it: I love the revolting descriptions of the characters and the humerous events which occur. I have found this book funny both as a child myself, as an adult and a parent sharing it with both of my children. I particulalry enjoy reading it out loud with others using different character voices.

💭Who I’d recommend it to: I would say it is best read with friends or family of age 7 plus. You need to have a good sense of humour and sense of adventure.

We love books. Stowmarket Library have some free children’s books on offer. If you have any unwanted children’s books at home, they’d happily accept donations.

We’re sorry to say that we will no longer have children’s books for sale in the library… 😔

Because they’re now free instead! 🎉🥳🎊

Find children’s books in the foyer that are free to take and keep! If you have any unwanted children’s books at home then please feel free to drop them off with us

🌟 **What a wonderful first week back!** 🌟

It’s been so lovely hearing the chatter, laughter and excitement filling our school once again. ❤️

There have been plenty of **smiley faces, happy reunions and lots of catching up** after the summer holidays. We’ve also loved seeing our new children settling in, making friends and beginning to feel at home in their new school. 🥰

From classrooms to the playground, it’s been lovely to see friendships forming, old ones being renewed and everyone getting back into the rhythm of school life.

What a lovely start to the new school year! 💛

Here’s to a fantastic year ahead of **believing and achieving together!** ✨

Where did those summer holidays go?! ☀️💚

With a week left, we hope everyone has had a safe, happy and fun-filled summer break. We can’t wait to welcome you all back to school on **Wednesday 2nd September!** 🎒📚

We know that getting back into school routines after the holidays can sometimes feel a little tricky — for children *and* grown-ups! So, we’ve put together some simple tips to help make the transition back to school as smooth, positive and stress-free as possible. 💚

Take a look through our **10 Top Tips for Parents and Carers** below. From getting back into routines and bedtime habits, to talking about feelings and preparing for the first morning, hopefully there’s something that can help your family feel ready for the new school year.

Remember, it’s completely normal for children to have mixed feelings about coming back — excitement, nerves or a little bit of both. 🥰

We’re looking forward to seeing all of our children back, hearing about their holidays and starting another fantastic year together!

⭐️Take It Back Tuesday⭐️

This throwback takes us back to Odd Socks Day, when we all came together to support Anti-Bullying Week. Wearing odd socks was a fun way to celebrate what makes us all unique and to remind ourselves that kindness, respect and inclusion matter every day.

Looking back on moments like these reminds us just how many memories we've shared together this year.
