If our Painted Sage isn't your thing, or you want a plant already grown and thriving. You can't go wrong with our Garden Sage / Salvia Officinalis. Still going strong throughout the drought we've had, this formidable plant can withstand some pretty tough conditions! Native to the Mediterranean, this small perennial evergreen features woody stems and lovely foliage that you can harvest for much of the year.

Thriving in full sun and light, well-drained soil, sage is a fantastic multi-tasker that doubles as a gorgeous ornamental plant. In the kitchen, its slight peppery taste is a must for flavouring fatty meats, rich stuffings, sauces, soft cheeses, and pickles. For a delicious treat, try frying the leaves in hot oil until crispy and sprinkling them over a pork chop or a fried egg on toast with a touch of chilli flakes!

Beyond cooking, a simple tea steeped from the leaves has a long history of traditional use as a soothing remedy for sore throats, coughs, and digestion.

Potted Garden Sage plants are available to buy online on our website!

While our popular Painted Sage plants have completely sold out, you can still enjoy this stunning beauty in your garden by growing it from seed!

Also known as Annual Clary Sage, Bluebeard, or Joseph’s Sage, this decorative plant is an absolute showstopper. It has an elegant, upright habit with hairy, toothed leaves and spikes of tiny flowers enclosed by large, vibrant bracts in shades of green, pink, and purple. They are a magnet for bees and pollinators throughout the summer!

While it is primarily grown as a flowering garden plant, both the leaves and flowers can also be used to add a unique flavour to your favourite food and drinks.

It is easy to get started. Simply sow your seeds in pots or module trays this spring, cover them with vermiculite, and plant them out once they are large enough to handle. Head to our website to grab your seeds and get growing at home!

Bring a zesty twist to your garden and kitchen with Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)! Part of the mint family, this robust perennial produces gorgeous lemon-scented foliage and reaches up to 1m tall. It is wonderfully easy to grow, though it can be a bit of a garden bully if left to its own devices!

Beyond its culinary appeal, this "gladdening herb" has a rich history in herbal medicine for soothing stress, easing mild anxiety, and promoting restful sleep. Summer brings nectar-filled flower spikes that bees adore, hence its genus name, Melissa, meaning honey bee in Greek. Harvest it all summer long to brew soothing teas, flavour dishes, or crush the leaves to repel insects.

Thriving in full sun or partial shade across most well-drained soils, these potted plants are available to buy online through to September. Add one to your herb garden today!

Introduce an exotic touch to your garden with Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)! Often called 'Indian Ginseng' or 'Winter Cherry', this strong and vigorous medicinal herb grows into a small, woody shrub about 3-4 ft high with elliptical green leaves, small five-petaled flowers, and vibrant red berries. It thrives in hot, full sun once all frost has passed, needing a sunny, well-sheltered spot, and will need to be brought into the greenhouse to overwinter.

Used by Ayurvedic healers for thousands of years, this powerful plant is traditionally prized for helping to reduce inflammation, decrease stress, and increase vitality, with the potent root used as both a sedative and an aphrodisiac. Given proper warmth and care, the root can even be ready to harvest in its first year!

Hurry, before they're all gone!
