Do you have memories of Kibblestone?

Kibblestone Adventure Centre has been hosting camping and adventure since 1927 –
meaning next year is our Centenary.

We are looking forward to celebrating the achievements of the last 100 years and looking forward to providing more fun, challenge and growth for young people in the 100 years ahead.

We will be sharing details of how you can get involved through the year – with events and activities, displays of our history and reaching out for you to share your stories and photos. And if you have some time to spare – maybe a little help to ensure everything is in tip top condition. Here are a few key dates for your diary:

9-11 April 2027 is our Centenary weekend when people will be welcome to come and visit the site to see the places they remember and tell the stories they can’t forget. Bring your family so you can tell them how it used to be. Arrange to meet up with old friends (how many group reunions can we host?). There will activities all weekend of Scouting skills you will remember.

Saturday 3 rd July 2027 will host a celebration Ceilidh. Dinner, dancing and lots of chat.Tickets will be on sale online and at the Centenary weekend. More reunions and more memories.

28-30 th August 2027 is set for the Rover Den Reunion. If you have ever volunteered atKibblestone you are welcome to join a weekend of chat, memories (and maybe we can find you a job or two – if you want).

Saturday 4 th September 2027 we’ll be hosting an event for everyone from Oulton Village to say thank you to our neighbours.

Can you help us make Kibblestone greener?

To make a difference for young people we rely on volunteers.
We have 98 acres of green. Trees and meadow. Just right for adventure, reflection and relaxation.

But despite all the green – we could be greener.

We are looking for a volunteer with experience in renewable energy to help reduce our
environmental impact. Help our reduce bills. Help us build a more sustainable future.

We are here to make futures better for young people. And that includes their planet.
We are not looking for a big or long-term commitment. Just a passion to help us move forward.

A big thank you to our friends at the Titanic Brewery Foundation for supporting our work to bring adventure and challenge to young people. We regularly have to replace climbing helmets to keep our rope activities safe. Helping to bring safety and thrills. Thanks Titanic!

A massive thank you to the team at the HSBC UK Supporting Our Community
Programme for awarding Kibblestone a grant.

Their kind support will help develop a facility at Kibblestone Campsite and Adventure
Centre near Stone, Staffs specifically for children and young people with special
educational needs and disabilities.

The Centre was fortunate in being gifted a modular building which has been delivered to site. Once in its final location, the grant money will be used to refurbish and fit it out with sleeping, bathroom and eating facilities suitable for small group sizes.

It is recognised that autistic children, for example, often thrive in small groups. These
environments reduce sensory overload, minimize anxiety and allow for tailored, intensive instruction.

Exploring the world outdoors can specifically help children with special needs to
overcome challenges and learn new skills, building their resilience and boosting their
self-confidence. This in turn has a hugely positive impact on their mental health.

“This is a massive boost to what Kibblestone can offer the local community” said James Lewis, Chair of Trustees. “We really are very grateful to HSBC UK for their support.”

We’re hiring – so we can offer more opportunity to more young people

And we want more young people to have the opportunity to enjoy the adventure and
natural world we have to offer. To grow in confidence and resilience. And to have a lot of fun.

We are looking to recruit a sales officer to work 7 hours per week selling our services to schools, youth and community groups.

Work can be from home or from our offices and time managed to fit around childcare or other commitments.

Great for Ages 8 – 15 – all activities are led by trained instructors in a safe and
supportive environment to challenge and help grow confidence

A chance to disconnect from technology and reconnect with adventure, nature, and
friends.

This summer we’ve included our Cave Bus activity for young explorers (Age 6+)
