“I’ve learned more in the past couple of months than I have in the whole course of fostering.” 💬

James grew up in a fostering family, and he thinks training shouldn’t just be for foster parents. Even one or two sessions can help sons and daughters understand what’s happening at home, and meet other birth children who really get it.

💜 This week is Children of Foster Parents Week (12–18 October)

For the mother-and-daughter team behind Families First Fostering, this week is personal. Our owners, Amanda and her daughter Rachael, know fostering from both sides. Amanda fostered, while Rachael and her sister grew up sharing their home, their family and their mum with children who needed them.

That experience inspired Rachael’s career in social work and, eventually, the agency she and Amanda built together, where every member of a fostering family, including the children of foster parents, feels recognised, supported and valued.

Come and say hello to the Families First Fostering team on Friday 10th July, 10:00am–2:00pm at the Newfriars Summer Festival! 🌈

Whether you're already thinking about fostering or you're simply curious to find out more, we'd love to chat with you in a relaxed, friendly setting. There'll be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discover how fostering can make a lasting difference to a child's life.
