whether youâre a teacher or a student, youâve probably experienced this
the classes we remember most arenât always the ones with the most advanced poses
theyâre often the ones where we felt welcomed, supported, and able to be ourselves
a teacherâs voice does so much more than deliver instructions
it can create safety
encourage exploration
invite presence
and become the thread that carries us through a practice â helping us navigate challenge, soften into stillness, and stay connected to ourselves along the way
for me, the most impactful teachers are rarely the loudest or the most polished
theyâre the ones who teach from a place of authenticity
the ones who understand that the asana is rarely the destination
it becomes a portal into something deeper
awareness
sensation
breath
presence
teachers â whatâs something youâve learned about finding your voice?
students â what qualities make a class memorable for you? â¨

why 108 sun salutations? âď¸
each year on the summer solstice, many yoga communities come together to move through 108 sun salutations â a moving meditation marking transition, reflection, and renewal.
in yogic tradition, the number 108 is considered sacred.
108 beads on a mala.
108 energy lines said to meet at the heart centre.
a number symbolising wholeness, connection, and completion.
practising 108 sun salutations becomes less about achievement and more about rhythm. breath. presence. community.
a chance to notice what rises, what softens, and what carries you through.
for our studioâs first birthday, it felt like the perfect way to honour this first cycle around the sun âď¸
weâll move together outdoors on the solstice, with plenty of space to pause, rest, or even tag team the practice with a friend if needed.
movement, snacks, chats, community, solstice energy â¨
join us this weekend:

when i think back to the teachers who have shaped my practice over the years
itâs rarely the fancy poses i remember
itâs how they made people feel
safe enough to explore
supported enough to try
comfortable enough to be themselves
for the teachers who leave the biggest impact, the asana is rarely the destination
it becomes a portal into something deeper
awareness
sensation
breath
presence
and a fuller connection with yourself
these are some of the qualities iâve noticed in teachers whose impact lasts long after the class has finished
teachers â what would you add?
students â what makes a teacher memorable for you? â¨

for all the years iâve been practising and teaching
these are still the lessons i come back to
not because i havenât learned them
but because life gets busy
i get distracted
and sometimes i need the reminder too
thatâs the thing about a yoga practice
itâs not about mastering something once
itâs about returning
again and again
whatâs a lesson life keeps teaching you?

sundays can come with a lot of pressure
to get organised
to be productive
to prepare for the week ahead perfectly
but maybe the most useful question isnât
âhow can i do more?â
maybe itâs
âwhat would help me feel more like myself this week?â
more movement
more rest
more fresh air
more connection
more space to breathe
it doesnât have to be complicated â¨
whatâs one thing youâre taking into next week?
