I don’t think there is enough praise from women for women — so I want to take a moment to celebrate three amazing women: Paula Anderson , Carey Dyer and my baby sis, Melanie Parsons .
I hope none of you take offence when I say this, but all three of you are at an age where our bodies naturally change — and yet you are all continuing to push boundaries, challenge yourselves and test what your bodies are capable of. That is something to be incredibly proud of.
Carey - won’t post publicly herself, but she absolutely deserves recognition. She achieved her first sub-21 minute Hanley Parkrun (tough course), and she is now knocking on the door of a Parkrun PB that has stood for 8 years (also the elusive SUB 20). What an achievement.
Paula — your dedication and commitment are incredible. Every year you set yourself new goals and keep striving for PBs, from 5k right through to the marathon. Your consistency and determination are genuinely inspiring.
And Mel ❤️ After 12 years away from running, you’ve come back and started doing something for yourself again. With two small kids to juggle, that’s no small thing. Since braving your first Parkrun just three weeks ago, you’ve improved your time every single week — and that’s amazing to see.
Ladies, please take a bow. You are all absolutely smashing it. 👏
Keep inspiring, keep pushing, and keep showing what’s possible.
I love getting messages about your runs off you all ❤️❤️❤️
