Every now and then, someone special comes along and becomes part of the Pear Tree family... and we're hoping that's about to happen again.

We're looking for a qualified Nursery Practitioner who believes childhood should be filled with muddy boots, messy hands, big adventures, endless stories, belly laughs and magical moments. Someone who isn't afraid to sing a little louder, build the biggest den, hunt for bugs, mix up today's mud kitchen recipe or sit quietly with a child who just needs a cuddle and someone to listen.

At Pear Tree, we're a family-run nursery where children are encouraged to explore, discover and learn through curiosity, creativity and meaningful experiences. We're passionate about giving children the very best start in life, while creating a workplace where our team feels supported, appreciated and inspired every day.

We genuinely care about one another, celebrate each other's successes, support each other through the challenging days and have plenty of laughs along the way. We work hard, but we make sure we enjoy the journey too.

To celebrate our wonderful children who are taking their next steps into Nursery School life, we arranged a delightful visit from a local farm. The children were fascinated by the Alpacas, laughed at the playful Baby Goat, loved cuddling the Baby Bunny Rabbit and stroking the fluffy sheep (who was also very noisy) and meeting the adorable duckling. We then enjoyed a wonderful brunch party, spending quality time with our friends before starting our new school journey.

Paddling pools are a great way to have fun and cool down in the warmer weather. But here’s 3 things you need to know:
1. Children can drown in paddling pools
2. It doesn’t take a lot of water. Little ones can drown in just a few cm of water
3. Drowning is silent. A drowning child won’t splash about or cry for help. They’ll slip quietly under the water, often unnoticed.
So what can you do?
• Keep little children in arms reach when they’re in or around the paddling pool.
• If you have to go inside, take your child with you
• Always have a dedicated water watcher - an adult to actively supervise children in and around the water.

Yesterday, our fantastic chefs, Teresa and Dawn, delighted parents and carers with a delicious treat from our current menu here at Pear Tree Nursery. We are committed to developing strong relationships and partnerships with parents. We enjoy sharing insights into the foods and meals our children enjoy every day. We believe in offering a wide variety of different cuisines to broaden children's food knowledge and awareness, and to encourage a healthy diet.

Last week, we celebrated our wonderful dads and father figures across our settings.
At Quarry House, we welcomed our dads with delicious breakfast rolls on arrival as they dropped their children off at nursery. It was a lovely opportunity to show our appreciation and start the day together.

At Chapel Street, we hosted a fun-filled session of games in the park, giving dads the chance to enjoy the outdoors and spend quality time with their little ones. The session ended with an exciting dad' race, which brought plenty of laughter and friendly competition. Afterwards everybody enjoyed bacon and sausage baps as a well-deserved treat.
Thank you to all the dad and father figures who joined us and helped make the celebration so special. We hope you had a wonderful Father's day.
