📚🌿 Reading is so much more than sitting down with a book!

Our Gruffalo Café brought the story to life through sensory play, imagination, language and a little bit of maths too! We also wrote our own menus and customer orders, then incorporated maths by working out the total cost of each order! 🐭🍦✏️➕

Learning through play makes stories meaningful, memorable and FUN! 💚

🌸 The power of playdough! 🌸

Playdough might look like simple play, but there is SO much learning happening at the same time! 👐✨

Squashing, squeezing, rolling, stretching and moulding can help children develop:

🌿 Fine motor strength and coordination
💗 Sensory processing and regulation
🧠 Concentration and attention
💬 Communication and language
✏️ Early writing and literacy skills
🔢 Early maths concepts
🌈 Creativity and imagination
🧩 Problem-solving skills

Playdough can also provide a calming, low pressure way for children to explore and learn particularly when activities are built around their own interests.

Making addition fun with hands on learning, counting, combining amounts and finding the total using our strawberry maths activity! ❤️

⚡️ Science in action! 🧪

We had lots of fun exploring electrical circuits and experimenting with different liquids to see if we could use them to generate energy and make our circuit work! 💡

Hands on experiments like this are a brilliant way to encourage curiosity, problem solving, predictions and learning through play, especially when children can investigate and discover the answers for themselves. 🌱

We need to try and work out what parents would like in these sessions. What day ( week day) suits best and also what age group we should try cater for.

🍂 Learning through stories, senses & play! 🍂

We brought The Gruffalo to life by making our very own Gruffalo Crumble! 🌲🐭

We explored different textures while mixing and creating, before hunting for words from the story to read, recognise and spell. ✏️📖

A lovely way to make literacy feel playful and meaningful, combining sensory exploration, reading, spelling and vocabulary in one engaging activity. 💗

Would anyone be interested in attending a SEND group?

These would be small group sessions providing a relaxed, nurturing space where children can play, explore, connect and develop at their own pace.

​We are so excited to share that a qualified teacher turned home educator, running her own sensory business and specializing in working with SEND children, is coming to Bobby’s!

​Our upcoming sessions are specially designed for our SEND home-educated children, focusing on:

🧸 Play & Movement
🌊 Low pressure & Regulation
🧠 Therapeutic, hands-on learning

​Aimed at early years and primary children, initially to begin with. These sessions provide a calm, supportive, and engaging environment where every child can thrive at their own pace.

​Small focused groups of around ten children, dependant upon individual needs.
