Year 7 Parents and Carers:

Just a reminder to please confirm your attendance at today's Settling In Meeting (Thursday 1st October).
NB. The session for parents/carers with surnames beginning A to J will take place from 5pm to 6pm, and the session for parents/carers with surnames beginning K to Z will run from 6pm to 7pm. Please ensure that you arrive in time for your session.

This will be an excellent opportunity to hear more about how your child has been getting on since starting with us at Alsager School.

During the evening, you will:
🦢 Learn about your child’s bespoke induction programme and how they've settled into school life.
🦢 Meet the pastoral team who provide support and guidance for your child.
🦢 Spend time with your child’s Form Tutor and Head of College, and experience a typical form time, seeing how this daily routine helps prepare students for success.
🦢 Receive more information about Behaviour for Learning (BfL) grades, attendance, homework, and how we can work together to support your child.
🦢 Gain further guidance on using Talaxy, our parent communication platform.

You can also use the form to submit any general questions you may have about Year 7 that will help us prepare responses to FAQs on the evening.

Two of our Year 9 Forest School students, Evan H and Zach S, are taking part in an Earthworm Survey for The Natural History Museum, which includes assessing the quality of the soil on the school site. As part of this activity, our two student researchers carefully dug up a variety of worms that were then measured and the results recorded. Next week the team will be checking the acid levels in our soil.

There are two one-hour tours each day, starting at 9am and 1.30pm. Our A6 Alsager Sixth Form College Open Evening, on Thursday 8th October, is the perfect opportunity for Year 11 students from Alsager and surrounding areas to discover everything our Sixth Form College has to offer.

With more than 30 academic and vocational courses to choose from, there is something for everyone. We were delighted to welcome so many Year 5 and Year 6 families in to school for our Open Morning on Saturday. It was lovely to meet everyone, share our wonderful school and find out more about the individual interests, aspirations and needs of our prospective students.
It was also very lovely to welcome lots of Alsager School alumni, many of whom had met their partners/spouses here, return with their children, keen for them to follow in their footsteps.
If you were unable to join us on Saturday or you'd like to visit us on a school day, please consider booking one of our school tours, which run from tomorrow (Tuesday 29th September) then throughout October. ALSAGER SCHOOL OPEN MORNING - 9.30am to 12.30pm TODAY

We are all set up and our students and staff are ready to welcome Year 5 and Year 6 families to our Open Morning today.

The event runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm and is a great opportunity for prospective students to visit us with their family to find out why Alsager School is such a wonderful place to learn, grow and achieve. We have lots for visitors to see and do and students and staff to guide them around the school and answer all their questions.

Yet another fantastic achievement from our Forest School students! They have grown a huge Dill's Atlantic Pumpkin, which now measures a fantastic 44.5cm across and 27cm high! Year 9 Oliver NS (in the photo) was part of the team responsible for the vegetable patch and nurturing the giant specimen, along with Year 8 Riley M, Finn I and Josiah R, who were all helped by Year 11 Charlie W.
The Forest School students are now challenged to guess the weight of the pumpkin and the person with the closest answer will win a £10 Costa voucher.
Our giant pumpkin definitely won't be going to waste. It will be carved ready for Halloween and the insides used for making pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie and even pumpkin ice cream! We can't wait to try them! 🎃

Just a reminder that school will be closing at 12:25 today (Friday 25th September) to enable staff to prepare for our Open Morning tomorrow. Buses will arrive at the earlier time and sandwiches will be available for students who would like them or who are entitled to free school meals.

Our Open Morning runs from 9:30am to 12:30pm and is a great opportunity for Year 5 and Year 6 families to visit us to find out why Alsager School is such a wonderful place to learn, grow and achieve. We have lots for visitors to see and do and students and staff to guide them around the school and answer all their questions.
