Parminder Garcha, Deputy Director for the West Midlands at the Department for Education, visited Belgrave St. Bartholomew's Academy and Abbey Hill Academy & College on Wednesday 4th March, to discuss the new SEN white paper and planned reforms.
It was a pleasure to welcome him to St. Bartβs and we look forward to meeting him again the in the future.
On Friday 23rd January, we were incredibly proud to officially launch our new Phiz Lab! π§ͺβ¨
This fantastic new science lab space will play a vital role in helping our children develop their skills in working scientifically: exploring, questioning, investigating, and discovering the world around them with curiosity and confidence. π
Huge thanks to The Ogden Trust for their generous donation which made this lab possible. We are also very grateful to our visitors from the Ogden Trust and Science Across the City who joined us to officially open the lab. π
A special thank you as well to the science ambassadors and families who came along to celebrate this exciting milestone with us.
We canβt wait to see the inspiration, learning and scientific thinking that will grow in this space for years to come! π¬π

Due to the current snowfall and the condition of the school site and surrounding roads, Belgrave will be closed again today. Weβre sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. The safety of our pupils, staff, and the wider school community is always our priority.
We will aim to communicate further information regarding reopening as soon as possible.
Teachers will be sharing some remote learning activities on their Class Dojo pages for children to complete at home today.

Due to the recent snowfall, both KS2 gate entrances will remainclosed this morning. Please use the KS1 Greenway gate for allaccess to the school site.
- EYFS will enter through the EYFS outdoor area.
- The Ark to enter through their usual entrance.
- KS1 and KS2 will enter through the KS1 door.

Last week, 12 of our amazing Year 5 & 6 pupils went out to represent Belgrave in an Ultimate Frisbee competition! πͺ
Every single child played brilliantly throughout - especially impressive as it was their very first time playing this sport! π
It was a fantastic day filled with teamwork, determination, and smiles all round. Our pupils truly demonstrated our Belgrave values from start to finish!
