Led by the Children's Commissioner for England, the survey will help ensure that the voices of children and young people are heard and reflected in future policy. Please encourage your children to take a few minutes to complete the survey and share their views, experiences and aspirations.

📱 Two Weeks Phone Free – A Fantastic Start! 📱

It has now been two weeks since we introduced our phone-free school initiative and we would like to thank our students, staff and families for their support.

The impact has been immediate and overwhelmingly positive. There is a noticeably calmer atmosphere around the school, particularly at the start of the day and during social times. Students are spending more time talking to each other, engaging in activities and building positive relationships face-to-face.

Staff have reported fewer distractions in lessons, improved engagement and a greater sense of focus across the school.

As we arrived back from our pilgrimage to Lourdes at the weekend, we reflected on how blessed we had been to share the prayers and intentions of the St Thomas More community with Our Lady in such a beautiful place.

From our work in the Accuiel with the assisted pilgrims of the Diocese, the Torchlight Procession, International Mass, the Anointing of the Sick, meeting His Grace Archbishop Bernard, snow topped mountains, beautiful sunshine, good food, prayer and karaoke! Polly, Talitha and Sophie represented our community with humility and joy, creating memories and experiences that we hope they will treasure for a lifetime.

Year 11... we hope that some of you will join us at Trinity Sixth Form next year for the Diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes in 2027!

As the GCSE exams begin and their chapter at St Thomas More begins to come to a close, we want our Year 11 students to reflect on what has been a wonderful journey, filled with learning, excitement and many memories. As we guide them towards the finish line, we have given them all a little gift to remind them of how far they have come, how much they deserve and all the success that awaits them. From all of their family at St Thomas More, GOOD LUCK!

We were delighted to welcome members of The Catenian's to school this week as they presented the Catenian Bursary Award to Sophie.

Sophie will be travelling to Lourdes on 24th May as part of this year’s pilgrimage, and the countdown is now officially on! The award will help support Sophie on this very special journey, and we are incredibly grateful to the Catenians for their generosity, encouragement, and continued support of young people in our school community.

We thank the Catenians for taking the time to visit us and for the kindness they showed to Sophie. We wish Sophie, along with the other students travelling to Lourdes this May, every success and a meaningful and memorable experience on their pilgrimage.

On Saturday, Polly, Sophie, Talitha and Mrs Willis undertook their mandatory safeguarding and first aid training with the Archdiocese Lourdes Pilgrimage team in Birmingham ahead of their forthcoming pilgrimage to Lourdes in half term.

The day comprised of basic first aid training, an overview of cleaning, mealtime and care duties in the Accueil and how to safely accompany assisted pilgrims who are in wheelchairs. It was also a great opportunity to meet other sixth formers from across the Diocese who will be part of the extended team of pilgrims, nurses, doctors, Handmaidens and Brancardier's that make the pilgrimage possible.

4 weeks to go!
