Mum used to take me to Hodsons to get my school shoes and I remember Grandad taking me to the fancy goods shop to choose a treat on Saturdays .❤️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Romeo & Juliet doesn’t have to be boring… especially when you’ve got a banging soundtrack! 🎶🔥

Absolutely loved Romeo + Juliet at the New Vic. Forget any memories of struggling through Shakespeare at school — this production is funny, fast-paced, modern and full of energy, with a banging soundtrack that completely brings the story to life.

The cast are fantastic, the comedy is genuinely funny and then, just when you’re having a great time, it reminds you that this is Romeo & Juliet and hits you with all the emotion too!

I loved the staging, the atmosphere and the way they’ve made Shakespeare feel fresh and accessible without losing the original story. Natalie Casey and Russell Kane were brilliant, but this really is a fantastic ensemble cast.

Funny, emotional, loud, clever and completely unexpected.

I loved how the cast came and mingled before the production, and the interaction with the audience.

I did worry at one part when they had my name they were going to get me in the round…. But I’ll be honest I hoped they would as it was a great cast.

A standing ovation was well deserved.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars from me — Shakespeare, but definitely not as you remember it from school! 🎭❤️🎶

Former Joule’s Brewery alongside the Trent and Mersey canal , Stone : The building dates from 1881 .
In 2024 the building and iconic hand painted ghost sign underwent major restoration and conservation .
The red cross on Joules Brewery signs in Stone comes from a 16th century tradition where monks at Stone Priory marked their casks with a cross to bless the ale and show its high quality . 🍻 🍺 🍻
