After hearing of Dolly Parton’s passing last night, I came across this quote of hers and felt the need to post it.

Not only is it really funny, it’s such a GREAT example of what self-assurance looks like in practice. When you know who you are, you don’t need people on the outside to validate it, you just know it. That’s real confidence.

I’d sum this up in 3 lines:

Know your worth
Accept yourself
Laugh at yourself

May we all demonstrate these things as beautiful and Dolly seemed to.

I’m no expert on Dolly Parton, but I don’t need to be to know what a powerful woman she was, and witness the impact she had on so many.

And I think it’s safe to say if the rest of us can live 20% as much as she did we’ll be doing pretty great in life : )
