A fantastic 2-0 win over The Co-op Academy sees them book their place in the City North final. A brilliant team performance from start to finish, with Dougie M getting both goals to seal the victory.

Talking to a pupil about their wellbeing can feel daunting, particularly when you are unsure what to say or worried about hearing something concerning.

Our latest guide reminds educators that they do not need to be specialists to provide meaningful support.

The guide explores:
• Building warm, trusting relationships
• Choosing a safe and appropriate place to talk
• Using side-by-side conversations to reduce pressure
• Staying calm when a pupil shares a concern
• Being clear and honest about confidentiality
• Knowing when to involve safeguarding colleagues or seek support yourself

It also includes practical conversation starters to help staff open discussions gently and give pupils space to talk when they are ready.

We are currently recruiting Exam Invigilators to join our team for upcoming exam seasons. The role is flexible, casual hours during key exam periods throughout the academic year. Full training will be provided, so previous experience is not essential.

Well done to our Year 7 boys on yesterday's hard fought 2-1 win over St Margaret Ward. Goals from Caleb J and Dougie M sealed the result after a great team performance from start to finish.

This Friday, 9th October, we’re marking World Mental Health Day with Hello Yellow. Students can wear a splash of yellow alongside their normal academy uniform, like yellow socks, a hairband, or a badge.

in tutor time, students will get involved in various wellbeing tasks, with options ranging from jotting down three positives, trying a quick mindfulness reset, and sharing words of encouragement, to doing a simple act of kindness or talking through what keeps them feeling supported.

Anyone who completes an activity and shows it to Ms Capper or their PT will get a yellow badge to wear.

It's National Cadets Week, and we want to give a massive shoutout to all our cadets here at the academy.

The discipline, commitment, and effort they put in, whether they're developing new skills, out on field exercises, or helping out around the academy is brilliant to see. They do a fantastic job representing us.

Well done to every one of them for their continued hard work!

Well done to our Year 9 netballers who represented the academy at the U14s tournament at Fenton Manor last week.

Two teams competed on the day, with our Reds putting in a great performance to finish joint second overall. The Greens had a tough run of games against strong opposition, but kept working hard right to the final whistle.

Great effort and teamwork from both squads throughout.
