London Trip 🇬🇧 🏙
Following the madness of meeting Jason Momoa, the group headed over to Westminster to see Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and then enter the Surpreme Court, where the group took the seats of Britain's top judges. After that, it was a quick hotel check in, a bite to eat and then we topped the day off with The Hunger Games at The Trubadour Theatre!
An unbelievable day, and we can't wait for what tomorrow has in store 😄

London Celeb Spotting 🔍
As we walked from Oxford St to Hyde Park, we were absolutely stunned to bump into international film star, Jason Momoa! The group could not believe it! We had tears, shaking, blushing, screaming - and that was just Sue!
Oli also got to meet one of his heroes and the entire group have been buzzing all afternoon. We've since visited Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and the Surpreme Court. More photos to follow!

The Widening Horizons group explored a variety of places within the local community this year. One of the students’ favourite destinations was Westport Lake Park. The students enjoyed using the different play equipment and outdoor spaces. These visits promoted good physical health through fun and engaging exercise, encouraged natural communication and social interaction between peers, supported independence, and helped build confidence while exploring new environments 🌳🫂

Hello this is the Plant Potters 🪴
Today we are going to tell you about this month's extension to the Foxlowe Arts Centre and inform you about buying our plants.
At the Foxlowe, we improve the accessibilities of the gardens by using the soil to make small ramps for the hole between the hedge and the actual ramp, so wheelchairs and other things with wheels can go to the gardens more easily.
We also did general plant care including dead heading, weeding, tying the sunflowers with twine to poles to help them grow (we did not tie them tightly to the poles), and replanting (for example cosmos). Some are for customers, but you will have to check out the Foxlowe Arts Centre page for that.
And now the information you all been waiting for, we will start selling our plants (if everything goes to plan) next week. As for the where and what we are selling, we have not decided, but we are discussing the where (no decision yet) and we are doing an audit of the plants as we don’t know the exact number (for why, see our first post after the last break).
Thank you for your time we hope to see you soon - and if we don’t good morning, good evening, and good night 👋

The Friday Project Volunteer Group has been getting involved in the local community by volunteering at Betty Rushton Community Gardens. The students have been developing their teamwork, gardening, and employability skills, while also growing in confidence as they communicate with the welcoming and supportive volunteers there.
What makes this experience so special is that it gives learners the chance to step outside the college environment and be part of something real in their community. Betty Rushton offers an accessible, inclusive space where students feel safe, valued, and able to take on new challenges. It’s a fantastic opportunity for them to build independence, form genuine connections, and develop skills that truly matter in everyday life 😊👏

🖨️ Busy times in the Printshop! 🎨
It’s been a productive summer term for our team, with lots of hoodies completed and exciting new merchandise now underway for a local band 👕🎶
Along the way, learners have been developing their weeding skills—showing real patience, focus, and determination. They’ve also gained a strong understanding of just how important attention to detail is when producing high-quality work.
A fantastic effort from everyone involved—great to see skills growing alongside confidence! 👏
