Spring cleaning time is here! We know how much young children love to be involved in tasks around the house, from cooking, to pairing socks, to drying a floor which you have just washed (with towels tied on their feet). Spring cleaning adds the bonus of moving furniture to clean behind it and looking for all the things of a certain colour for the laundry, activities which encourage play as children see things in new ways. It can be as simple as giving a child a cloth wrung out in warm lavender-scented water with which they can wipe chairs and tables. In this video, it is a reflected in a simple ring time for the kindergarten.
To find out more about how you can train as a Steiner Waldorf early childhood educator, go to our website: www.neswec.org.uk. We are enrolling now for our October intake this year.

Here is another taster from our course. Are you thinking about enroling for the coming academic year? Do visit our website, www.neswec.org.uk, and contact me with any questions: [email protected]. There are very good interest-free loan options with long repayment times.

Our short online introductory course is on 10th and 11th July (Friday evening and Saturday morning). There is a valuable option for finding out more about the Waldorf approach to education and care and what it would be like to take a training.

We have been busy with our new students, getting the year off to to a good start. But now we are starting to think towards the next academic year and the new students we would like to attract for our intake in October. Here in this video is just a little taste from a recent discussion with our Year 1 students.
Our well-known online introductory sessions will be on 10th and 11th July this year and we will be putting out plenty of publicity for those soon. Find our website: www.neswec.org.uk. Contact me: [email protected].

Day 12 of my advent.

Despite how it feels, light is always coming back for you. Do whatever you can to keep your little fire lit. Someone is watching out for it’s light.

Now we have met our new Year 1 students and started a journey together. One of the aims for our induction residential is to support them in becoming a well integrated social group who will cherish each other over the next two years and beyond. Eurythmy, a very special movement art, is a great help in that process. At the induction, we were lucky enough to have eurythmy with a pianist and here is a taste of that in the video. In a few days time we will be meeting our new Year 1 students for our induction residential. They will have time to get to know us and each other, receiving intriguing introductions to the various sections of our early childhood programme. And they will enjoy some relaxing artistic activities including singing, painting, eurythmy (an art of social movement to words or music) and making pictures out of dyed sheep's wool. Here are a few slides from previous induction residentials to give you a taster. There is still time for you to enrol, if you want a to seriously explore the Steiner Waldorf approach to early childhood education and care. See our website: www.neswec.org.uk. Here is a short clip from one of our Core Tutors. Sam Greshoff is the early childhood representative for Waldorf UK (our national organisation) and we are very lucky that she is part of our core team. On the NESWEC course, Sam specialises in working with very young children and with parents/carers (as in this clip) and supports our students in understanding and working with statutory rules and regulations, from a Waldorf perspective.
