Here is another puppet play for you to see. Briar Rose is a good choice for this time of year. Of course, there are many questions about the relevance of these traditional fairy tales. In Year 2 our students spend some time exploring these questions to find out why old stories like this are nourishment for 21st children, how to work appropriately with these stories now and how to talk about them with parents.
We are enrolling now for our new Year 1 to start in October half term. Early bird discount for applications received by 31st August. Have a look at our website, www.neswec.org.uk, and contact me with your questions< [email protected].

It was good to have some lovely people attend our online introductory sessions this weekend. The Billy Goats Gruff puppet play is attached here, as promised to our participants.

Now we are really encouraging those who are interested in our full progammes to apply. On our website, www.neswec.org.uk, you will find more information and the application form ('practical details' tab and 'applications and enrolment' from the drop down menu). If you are intending to apply, we would very much appreciate it if you did so soon. We have to make a decision on whether or not we have viable numbers by the end of August, and we would like to let applicants know as soon as we can that the course will be running. In addition, it makes it easier for us to plan ahead for the students coming towards us.

Just contact me with any questions: jill neswec.org.uk

There is still time to register for our online Introductory sessions, These will give you an overview of the Waldorf Early Childhood approach and some tasters of what it is like to take a training. Here's a video from one of our residentials at Elmfield school. We are practicing a ring time for the fairy tale Snow White and Rose Red, and around the hall you can see some of the seasonal and festival tables which the students have created. Visit our website: www.neswec.org.uk to find out about our programmes. We are enrolling for our new Year 1 in October.

Spring cleaning time is here! We know how much young children love to be involved in tasks around the house, from cooking, to pairing socks, to drying a floor which you have just washed (with towels tied on their feet). Spring cleaning adds the bonus of moving furniture to clean behind it and looking for all the things of a certain colour for the laundry, activities which encourage play as children see things in new ways. It can be as simple as giving a child a cloth wrung out in warm lavender-scented water with which they can wipe chairs and tables. In this video, it is a reflected in a simple ring time for the kindergarten.
To find out more about how you can train as a Steiner Waldorf early childhood educator, go to our website: www.neswec.org.uk. We are enrolling now for our October intake this year.

We have been busy with our new students, getting the year off to to a good start. But now we are starting to think towards the next academic year and the new students we would like to attract for our intake in October. Here in this video is just a little taste from a recent discussion with our Year 1 students.

Day 12 of my advent.

Despite how it feels, light is always coming back for you. Do whatever you can to keep your little fire lit. Someone is watching out for it’s light.

Now we have met our new Year 1 students and started a journey together. One of the aims for our induction residential is to support them in becoming a well integrated social group who will cherish each other over the next two years and beyond. Eurythmy, a very special movement art, is a great help in that process. At the induction, we were lucky enough to have eurythmy with a pianist and here is a taste of that in the video.
