Yesterday, our Reception class took their learning outdoors for a energetic game of Twister Phonics! ☀️🎲

The children had a brilliant time matching their hands and feet to different sounds, blending movement with phonics practice. It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork, and laughter while building key literacy skills in the fresh air.

Well done, Reception! 👏✨

In year 3, as part of their 'hook' lesson for English, the children came into the classroom to find a lovely scene from the book. There were lots of clues set up to show the children who the main characters are in our book.
Then then worked in pairs to write questions about what thye would like to know.

🦁🐘 Wonderful Writing in Year 2! ✏️📚

Year 2 have been working incredibly hard in English today! 🌟 The children have been writing factual statements about animals, carefully choosing adjectives to make their descriptions interesting and detailed, as well as using apostrophes to show possession. ✍️

We were so impressed with their vocabulary, concentration and enthusiasm. There were lots of fantastic sentences and some brilliant animal facts too! 👏💚

This wonderful learning reflects our recent Ofsted report, which recognised that “pupils gain a secure knowledge in early reading, writing and mathematics” and praised the way our curriculum helps pupils build their knowledge and skills as they move through school. ⭐

Well done, Year 2 — keep up the amazing writing! 🥰

PC 29847 Barnett & PCSO Aaron Jones came for a visit to Reception today. 👮
Reception have been learning about who helps us in our local community, and learnt all about police, firefighters and the ambulance service.
They were then surprised when the police came for a visit - they learnt all about their jobs, the equipment they use, and even got to see the police car! 🚓
