In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
With heavy hearts, Stepping Stones Community Nursery remembers Hurain Ahmed, a beautiful child who was once part of our nursery family and filled our setting with smiles, warmth, and light.
Hurain left our nursery in July 2025 as she continued her medical journey. She showed remarkable strength, enduring both a kidney and liver transplant with courage far beyond her years. Sadly, in December 2025, despite the hopes and prayers of so many, Allah ﷻ called her back to Him.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When a child of a servant dies, Allah says to the angels: ‘Have you taken the soul of My servant’s child?’ … Allah says: ‘Build for My servant a house in Paradise and call it the House of Praise.’” (Tirmidhi)
In loving memory of Hurain Ahmed, Stepping Stones Community Nursery is raising £1,000 to build a wudu facility in Pakistan, in partnership with GRT Global Relief Trust. This facility will enable many people to perform wudu with dignity and ease before prayer.
This project will be a form of sadaqah jariyah (ongoing charity) for Hurain — a continuous reward that, by the mercy of Allah, will benefit her every time someone performs wudu and stands before Allah in salah.
Allah ﷻ reminds us:
“Whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.” (Qur’an 99:7)
Duʿāʾ:
O Allah, forgive Hurain Ahmed, envelop her in Your mercy, and grant her the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus. Make her a means of intercession for her parents, and place patience, strength, and tranquillity in the hearts of her family. O Allah, make this wudu facility a source of continuous reward, light in her grave, and elevation in rank for her. Accept it from us with Your mercy, O Most Generous.
We kindly ask our community to donate whatever they are able and to share this appeal. Even the smallest contribution can become a means of immense reward.
May Allah accept from all of us and turn this loss into lasting goodness. Ameen.
🤍 Please help us reach our £1,000 target.

We are so proud to launch our Ramadan School Workshop Project here at Stepping Stones! 🌙✨
This special project helps primary school children learn about Ramadan and Islam through an engaging exhibition in our hall. Children explore the cycles of the moon, fasting, foods, herbs and animals mentioned in the Qur’an, the Kaaba, and the journey of Hajj & Umrah. We also have models of the Kaaba and Masjid Al-Nabawi, plus a role-play area where children can try on Ihram and explore many fascinating artefacts.
Our workshops include Kaaba painting, Tasbih (prayer bead) making, and a drum/daff session where children learn the basic beats of drumming. 🥁
As part of the experience, we also organised a guided mosque visit to Gillani Noor Masjid in Longton, which the children absolutely loved – we received such wonderful feedback! (More photos from that trip coming soon.)
So far, over 250 primary school children have attended, and it has been an incredible and successful project! A huge thank you to all the schools who have already visited – we look forward to welcoming many more throughout March.
If your school would like to book a visit to the Stepping Stones exhibition, workshop, and guided mosque tour, please contact us:
