🌳 OPAL Play at Waterside 🌳
We are excited to be developing OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) at Waterside! OPAL is all about making playtimes happier, more active and more creative by giving children a wider range of opportunities to play, explore and use their imagination.
Through OPAL, children will develop important skills such as resilience, teamwork, independence, problem-solving and creativity, while enjoying the benefits of being active outdoors.
♻️ We need your help!
As we develop our OPAL provision, we will be asking our families and wider community for donations of items that can be safely used for outdoor play. This could include dressing-up clothes, tyres, sturdy planks of wood, crates, pots and pans, buckets, tubes, containers and other safe, reusable items that children can use creatively in their play. Before throwing something away, please think “Could our children play with this?” It might be just what we need! 💚
All donated items will be checked by school staff to make sure they are suitable and safe before being used.
Keep an eye on Dojo for more information about what we need and where donations can be dropped off. Together, we can make our playtimes even more exciting, creative and memorable for our children!
