Year 11 – GCSE Results Day Is Nearly Here!

To all our amazing Year 11 students, the moment you’ve been waiting for is just around the corner — your GCSE results are almost ready to be revealed, and we can’t wait to welcome you back into school on Thursday between 8.30am and 10.30am.

Please arrive via the High Lane entrance to collect your results.

A quick reminder: results can only be released to the candidate themselves, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance.

You’ve worked incredibly hard, shown real resilience, and pushed yourselves every step of the way.

Whatever Thursday brings, remember this:
You’ve grown, you’ve learned, and you’ve shown what you’re capable of.

Good luck, Year 11! Keep believing in yourselves — when you do, you’re already halfway to achieving your dreams.

SOLAR ECLIPSE MAGIC TONIGHT!

I hope everyone managed to catch tonight’s solar eclipse — it was absolutely stunning.

I loved watching the moon glide across the sun, and using a colander to see the shapes made it even better.

The moment the birds went quiet was unforgettable… nature really paused for the show.

Here are a few of my pictures from tonight’s sky.

***But the cosmic fun isn’t over — the meteor shower peaks around midnight with around 100 meteors an hour.

Switch off the lights, get comfy, look up, and spot those shooting stars.

And don’t forget to make a wish when you see one.

Get ready for some seriously exciting news…

Because Charlie has been selected to represent Great Britain in the W17 Generation Cup in Denmark — one of the biggest and most competitive youth handball tournaments in Europe!

This is a huge achievement.

The Generation Cup brings together the strongest U17 handball teams from across the continent, showcasing lightning‑fast gameplay, elite skill, tactical brilliance and fierce international competition.And now… Charlie is right there in the mix.

***Chosen to wear the GB colours.
***Chosen to compete against Europe’s best.
***Chosen because she has worked unbelievably hard to reach this level.

From relentless training sessions to standout performances on court, Charlie has shown grit, passion and pure talent — and this selection proves she’s operating at the very top of her game.

Yesterday was nothing short of spectacular at Haywood as we celebrated World Culture Day 2026 — and wow, did our students make it unforgettable!

This is a huge national achievement that recognises our commitment to protecting the planet, reducing waste, boosting biodiversity and empowering students to make real, meaningful change.

A massive well done to Mrs Beech and her incredible team of Eco Warriors who have worked tirelessly all year — from litter‑picking and recycling drives to energy‑saving campaigns and eco‑friendly projects across the school.
