🦷✨ This week in Year 4, we had a special visit from a dentist!

The children learned all about dental hygiene and the importance of keeping their teeth healthy. They had the exciting opportunity to examine real human teeth and even spotted signs of decay on some of them! 👀

We also explored a range of foods and discovered that some foods which seem healthy are not always the best choice for our teeth. 🍎🥤

After that, we practised the correct way to brush our teeth, learned how long we should brush for, and discussed the best tools and techniques to help keep our smiles bright and healthy. 😁🪥

It was a fascinating and hands-on experience that helped us understand how important it is to look after our teeth every day! 🌟

🔬 Year 4 Science! 🧠

Y4 had an amazing science lesson last week! The children created their own digestive systems, using a masher for teeth, apple juice to represent stomach acid and tights to simulate the intestines.

We then created wearable digestive systems, labelling the main organs on T-shirts to help us understand where they are located in our bodies. 👕🌟

End-of-Year Church Service

A huge thank you to Miss Lynch, Rev Rob, and the wonderful staff team for putting together such a beautiful and memorable end-of-year service. It was a truly special celebration and the perfect way to reflect on all we have achieved this year.

Thank you to everyone at St John's Church for all their support with our services throughout the year. We are so grateful for your continued partnership and encouragement.

Thank you to all our parents and families for joining us today and for your continued support throughout the year. Your encouragement and partnership mean so much to our school community.

Finally, a very special mention to our Year 6 pupils who sung beautifully throughout and left us with some words of wisdom. As you leave us and begin your exciting journey to high school, we are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved. We wish you every success, happiness, and confidence in this next chapter. You will always be a valued part of our school family.

We look forward to our final day of the school year tomorrow.

☀️🫧 Bubble Magic in the Sunshine! 🫧 ☀️

As part of our Summer Term Enrichment offer, our EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 children enjoyed a wonderful visit from The Bubble Man on the school field in the glorious sunshine. The children were fascinated by the amazing bubble displays, and their smiles, laughter and giggles throughout the session were a joy to see. It was lovely to watch everyone having so much fun together and creating such happy summer memories.

🏆 Gold in the School Games Mark! 🏆

We are delighted to share that our school has been awarded the Gold School Games Mark this year!

The School Games Mark is a national award that recognises schools for their commitment to providing high-quality PE, school sport, and physical activity opportunities for all children. It celebrates schools that encourage participation, teamwork, competition, leadership, and the development of healthy, active lifestyles.

Achieving Gold is a fantastic accomplishment and reflects the enthusiasm and dedication of our pupils and staff. We are incredibly proud of the wide range of sporting opportunities we provide and the way our children embrace being active, try new activities, and represent our school.

A huge well done to everyone involved. We would especially like to recognise our PE Lead, Miss Dundas, for all of her hard work and dedication this year. This is a wonderful achievement for our whole school community! 👏🏅
