As part of PSHE, all pupils at Peak Education Stoke took part in a Knife crime workshop led by our local PCSO's. Pupils each had a VR headset which played a 10-minute clip putting themselves in a real-life scenario.
Pupils had to make several decisions to get the best outcome for themselves and others or face being arrested at the clip's end. Pupils then had a group discussion around the characters in the clip and discussed the impact of knife crime.

Before Summer, Audley celebrated a successful week with a student who had met with their challenges when attending his lessons.
The student has completed a great piece of work about one of his heroes in the sport of boxing & found out facts about Mike Tyson. The student was proud to show the team and has also shown great improvements in attendance in the same week, showing that he can do it!

One of our Audley students visited Operation Ouch Science and Industry Museum, where they travelled through the mouth and played in a set of giant teeth to find out why our teeth are different shapes.
They also met with Bop the bad bacteria in the stomach, Larry the Vomiting Robot, who helped scientists understand how bacteria and viruses in our vomit spread and make people sick.
Took a walk through the villi in the small intestine, then played a game to see if they could hit the high score in the nutrient toss.
They also discovered the surprising science behind tummy rumbles and bottom grumbles. Spun the wheel on the poo-duction line and played guess the smells in the stink chamber.

Year 9 students and their parents/carers attended Peak Educations Cannock's Options Event in May.
It was a fantastic opportunity for them to meet the teachers, learn more about the subjects, and have a little taster session before making their choices for the next stage of their learning journey.
The school hall was brought to life with an array of subject-based activities and the students have started to get excited about their transition to Key Stage 4 - it's all very real now!

During an outdoor session at Astbury Watersports Centre the staff and students took advantage of the warm weather by taking part in team-building exercises and focusing on fun on the water.
New students at Peak Education Audley thoroughly enjoyed their first experience on the water, which supported building their confidence and self-esteem, putting their trust in the staff, and having fun with their new friends.
The staff were so proud of the existing students who encouraged and reassured the new students they would be ok.
