Our vocal student Shay has only gone and landed the lead role as Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Regent Theatre!!! 🍫

When Shay first came to us with his audition song, we focused on refining pitch accuracy in the extreme upper register, developing a strong, supported belt, and reducing reliance on head voice. Building the vocal strength, control, and stamina needed for this role while maintaining healthy technique has been key and we’re so excited to continue supporting Shay through rehearsals in delivering strong musical theatre technique 🎵🎤

A big thank you to our Vocal Tutor Katie for her support with Shay’s audition tape. This casting speaks volumes, with West End star Joel Montague on the audition panel, renowned for his powerhouse vocals and best known for playing King George III in Hamilton, Dewey Finn in School of Rock, and Buddy in Elf the Musical!

Huge congratulations to all of our students who performed at tonight’s Spring Showcase! 🎤🎵

Each year we host four seasonal showcases, giving more than 20 students the opportunity to perform live for their friends and family and share what they’ve been working on in their lessons. It’s a chance for them to step onto the stage, experience a real audience, and grow as performers.

Tonight we saw so much bravery, confidence, and genuine stage presence. Every performance showed not only strong vocal technique and control, but also the dedication our students put into their practice both inside and outside their lessons!

We’re incredibly proud of each and every performer, and of the fantastic work our vocal tutors continue to do in nurturing every student as an individual artist! 🎤🎵

And then there were… 4! ✨New Tutor Alert! 🎤

We are so pleased to welcome Izzy to The Song Loft!🎵

Izzy completed her Level 3 Extended Diploma in Musical Theatre at the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), an internationally respected institution founded by Paul McCartney. Known for its industry-led, performance-focused training and highly competitive audition process, LIPA gave Izzy a strong grounding in professional rehearsal discipline and performance standards.

She is currently completing her BA (Hons) in Performing Arts at Performers College Manchester and brings a wide range of professional performance experience into her teaching. Her credits include Shrek the Musical, The Final Curtain – Heroes vs Villains, and becoming a finalist in West End Calling 🏆

Izzy is a strong musical theatre vocalist with an impressive vocal range and power. As a former student of The Song Loft herself, she has learned first-hand from our tutors, and now she’s ready to pass that experience directly on to the next generation of performers!

Izzy starts tomorrow and will be our Under 16’s Vocal Tutor on Saturdays 🎤

New tutor alert! We are are thrilled to welcome (another) Lauren to the team (that’s going to get confusing!) 🎵🎤

Lauren is the 4th vocal tutor that will operate at The Song Loft in our brand new studio in the same building. This will open up more availability for those that previously couldn’t get in on Tuesday and Thursdays after school and work between 5pm and 9pm.

Lauren is a highly trained performer and teacher with a strong academic and professional background in acting, singing, and musical theatre. She trained with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), achieving grades in Musical Theatre, Speaking Verse and Prose and Acting, before going on to graduate with a First Class BA (Hons) in Acting from St Mary’s University Twickenham.

Lauren spent seven years performing at the Alton Towers Resort as a children’s entertainer before progressing to Show Captain and later Attraction Manager, leading performers and overseeing live shows. Her credits include Dinnerladies, Avenue Q, Songs for a New World, The Polar Express and the acclaimed new musical A Song for You. Lauren performs regularly as a solo vocalist with ongoing gig residencies and is an active member of a youth choir. She has served as a singing teacher with Stagecoach and is currently training as a primary school teacher.

BEETLEJUICE OPEN AUDITIONS- NEWS

Open auditions for the role of everyone’s favourite dark darling of the dearly departed, and Beetlejuice: The Musical leading lady, Lydia Deetz, have been announced today.

Dark, smart and moody, with a jet-black sense of humour and a streak of anarchy, Lydia's a step ahead of almost everyone she meets – living or dead. But she's at the mercy of a mania, just like Beetlejuice. Lydia wants life to mean something. The world seems small to her since her mother died; she longs for it to reveal itself as something more fantastical than it is. She's heart-forward, and on a quest to find a reason to live.

Producers are looking for a female-presenting actor, playing age - late teens (16 -18), no taller than 5'4" and of any appearance. So don’t miss your chance to hang out with the baddest bio-exorcist in town, in the most anticipated Broadway transfer of recent years. The open call will be held on Thursday 22nd January, 10am – 6pm at a central London location.
