We had the pleasure of meeting Kathy Tallentire - Children's Author this morning - who is the author of a brilliant 'stokie' story called Nana Duck. It was great to hear the story read by Kathy and to hear about all the personal touches within the book. The children sat beautifully and we will definitely love to see her again.
A big thank you to those that have ordered signed copies, we hope you enjoy reading these together!
If you would like to see more of Kathy's books or to arrange for her to come out to your School/Setting you can find information on her website - https://kathytallentire.com/

Happy January!

Here is just some of the things we have been up to in our Curious Caterpillar and Brilliant Butterflies room this month so far.

From exploring treasure baskets, socialising with others, reading, writing and working on our social skills. Lot's of learning through play happening and our new children are settling in really well.

We are looking forward to having a special visitor tomorrow to link in with our topic of the month in our Butterfly room; Where We Live. Kathy Tallentire - Children's Author will be coming to read her amazing story Nana Duck to the children.

Our Brook Cottage Family are fully backing the Keep Norton Green GREEN campaign! ✊🌳

You may or may not be aware that Stoke-On-Trent City Council are planning on building 3100 homes on the villages green belt and we plan on supporting the local residents in stopping this from going ahead. We plan to do this by coming together and creating a voice for nature, our children and future generations.

Our local walks and the amount of learning opportunities on our doorstep will not be around for much longer if we allow this change to happen.

Ofsted/Local Authority want Early Years to adopt a Climate Action policy and make changes to our day to day practice as well as teach children about climate change. To adopt this, we use our local area a lot for nature-based learning. How can we fully embed this when our council is planning on taking these learning opportunities away and doing the opposite of what we are trying to teach. Building on our green belt is not protecting our planet!

September so far...
A month of new beginnings; whether it is the start of a nursery journey or down a new path settling into a different room or a new journey into School!

Here are some pictures of what we have been up to so far.

We also hope that all of the children who have sadly left us for School are all settled in to their new School.
We would also like to take this opportunity to say Thank You again for all of our cards, gifts and kind words but most of all Thank You for allowing us to be a part of your child's journey ✈️
