Here are some highlights of week 1 of our Summer School.
It was a fantastic success, with all the students blowing us away with their confidence and positivity.
They all really immersed themselves into all activities and we are very excited to welcome them in September and our second group for Summer School in August.
Families have been emailed a feedback form, and we would love to hear from you.

Due to the location of our school near increasingly busy roads, from September students who choose to cycle to school must wear a bike helmet. Students will not be allowed on site with a bike without one.
Any parent/carer who needs support to purchase a helmet should contact [email protected].

Although our staff and students are safely back in the UK, this final day post was missed on Friday.
After a smooth check out, students enjoyed a visit to Estadi Montilivi where they had opportunity to take questions from Mr James in the press room, sat in the changing rooms and heard all about the technology in the grass surface. The tour was a fantastic opportunity to consider the plethora of careers linked to sport.
Lunchtime included a quick last minute shopping opportunity in Centro Comercial Splau and the final destination was CosmoCaixa Museum of Science which had so many fascinating exhibits, but the capybara stole the show.
Thank you to Mr Sutton and the team of staff who organised and accompanied the visit, and thank you to the students who represented our school values at every opportunity.

Year 7 displayed all of their essential skills today in the Chocolate Enterprise Challenge
All teams performed well, resulting in 36 representatives delivering a 1 minute elevator pitch in front of all of their peers and the Year 8 Skills Leaders, who judged the event.
Well done to team 7 who displayed greatness across all essential skills!

What a fantastic week for our Year 12 students! 🎉
They have enjoyed a week of competitive and spirited rounders in tutor time each day, showing excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout.
Tutor groups competed against one another in a round-robin tournament, with every team giving their all. After some closely contested matches, 12JBU emerged as the overall victors on countback. Congratulations to all students for their enthusiasm and commitment throughout the competition. ⚾🏆
Alongside the sporting action, each tutor group has spent this half term creating and running its own fundraising initiative in support of a charity of their choice. Their creativity, effort and generosity have been inspiring. We are delighted that donations are on their way to Cats Protection, Luke's Legacy and Dougie Mac. ❤️
Well done to everyone involved for making the week such a success and for demonstrating the values of teamwork, community spirit and kindness. We are incredibly proud of you!

Mr Withers was a lucky winner in one of the many fundraising activities organised by Year 12. We hope that he shared his prize with other members of the site team!
