Balloon Painting ππ¨
Caterpillars have explored painting using balloons to create a fun and sensory mark-making experience. They experimented with different colours, noticing how the paint changed as they pressed, rolled, and dabbed the balloons onto the paper.
This helped to support the childrenβs fine motor skills as the children grasped and controlled the balloons. They explored different textures and enjoyed discovering the marks and patterns created by the balloons.

Our Blossoms children have had fun exploring water play using a selection of small jugs and bowls. This encouraged them to fill and empty the containers, pour water from one container to another, and enjoy splashing and exploring the water with their hands.
This activity supports fine motor skills as babies grasp, hold, lift and tip the jugs and bowls. It also encourages hand-eye coordination.
The sensory experience of touching and splashing in the water provides opportunities for babies to explore cause and effect, while developing confidence and curiosity through play.

Ice Cream Shop π¦π¨
Our Caterpillar children have enjoyed exploring our ice cream shop tuff tray, using play dough,
cornets and colourful sprinkles to create their own ice creams.
This activity encouraged the children to develop their fine motor skills as they squeezed, pinched and shaped the play dough. They also explored a variety of textures and sensory experiences while using the different materials.
The children also enjoyed exploring the ice cream menus and choosing which ice cream they would like.
The children were able to use their creativity and imagination as they designed their own ice creams and engaged in pretend play within the ice cream shop.
