Congratulations Lauren!
"So since leaving trinity I went to Keele to complete my BSc in psychology with counselling, I then went onto study my MSc in counselling and psychotherapy at Keele and underwent a placement at a mental health charity in Oswestry. Whilst I’ve been there I kept studying alongside the masters so I have a level 4 qualification in children and young people’s counselling, as well as qualifications in Cognitive behavioural therapy, su***de first aid, and Rewind therapy which is a treatment for symptoms of active PTSD. I now work in a nursing home as an events coordinator creating activities for residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s that are cognitively stimulating, as well as owning my own private counselling practice - so I’m a busy bee!"

❤️Congratulations to Tim and Jess, the latest past students to tie the knot. Congratulations to you both, it looks like a lovely day, and we have spotted some other familiar faces in the wedding party too.❤️

Congratulations to our Libby, who told us:

I graduated from Somerville College of The University of Oxford with a 2:1 in English Language and Literature BA
I couldn’t have done it without the lovely support of my wonderful family, friends, and the teachers at Margaret Ward. Feeling very grateful and excited for my next chapter! ❤️

Brilliant news, well done Libby.

We love hearing from previous students like this email from Alina over the weekend "I just wanted to check in and let you know how I am doing, I am loving university so far, it is such a great experience living in Manchester and I have experienced so many new things and people, I have made so many friends and I love my law degree. I think it is so interesting!!

I got elected as the treasurer for the University of Manchester's Future Women Lawyers Society 2024/25, so I am super excited for that as that is something that can go on my CV.

Approaching the examination period, I have 2 exams and 2 assignments so I am in the process of revising for all of them and planning assignments, in first semester I achieved a 1st in my contract law summative assignment and a high 2:1 in my ILALS module, so I am on the right track I hope haha. I still want to go into commercial law and I think I want to be a solicitor more than a barrister as after speaking with the head of careers I think it is more suited to me.

Just wanted to say thank you for all of the support during A Levels helping me to get to where I am today, I do miss you guys at SMW!"

You have until 16th April to register to vote in the May local elections, and remember there will definitely be a general election in the next twelve months too.
You can register once you are 16, and vote in the first election after you turn 18. Search 'register to vote' and you'll be able to find the right page on the YouGov website, and it will take around 5 minutes to get ready to participate in the democratic process.
