Yesterday, our Marketing Officer Hannah visited the Move More, Feel Better project delivered by Middleport Matters Community Trust and supported through funding from Together Active.
From movement and mindfulness to conversation and connection, the session created a welcoming and supportive space where women felt comfortable, encouraged and empowered.
Projects like this are so important because they recognise that wellbeing is about more than exercise alone. They help people build confidence, improve mental wellbeing, reduce isolation and create meaningful community connections.
We’re incredibly proud to support and fund initiatives like Move More, Feel Better that are making a real difference to people’s lives across our communities.
A huge thank you to Middleport Matters and instructor Dimi for creating such a positive and inclusive environment 💙🫶

Last week, we were proud to host the first Move Your Way Festival, bringing together girls from across Stoke-on-Trent for a day full of activity, movement and creativity 💖
Girls got stuck into a range of activities including cricket, netball, Zumba, cheerleading, aerial hoop and circus skills, with lots of encouragement and support along the way.
The smoothie bike was a real highlight 🚴♀️🍓 with girls using pedal power to make their own fresh smoothies!
Alongside the activities, girls also took part in a workshop focused on building confidence and self-esteem.
This day was shaped by what girls told us matters to them: feeling comfortable, supported, and able to try different ways of being active.
With the Youth Sport Trust highlighting that girls are less likely than boys to achieve 60 minutes of daily activity, Move Your Way is all about helping girls find movement they enjoy.
✨Move Your Way is part of the This Girl Can campaign, led by Sport England.✨
A big thank you to all the girls and schools who took part, and to the fantastic activity providers who brought so much energy to the day! 🤩👏

If you believe local voices should lead local change, we’d love you to consider becoming a Host Organisation!
🌟Become a Host Organisation🌟
We’re inviting community organisations in Burton-upon-Trent and Uttoxeter to host a Community Activator as part of our Place-Based Expansion work in East Staffordshire.
This Sport England funded approach is about systems change but it starts with listening. We want to understand what helps (and gets in the way of) local people being active, and work together to make movement easier and more meaningful.
Community Activators are key to this. They work alongside residents and groups, building trust, gathering insight, and making sure community voices shape local and regional decisions.
As a Host Organisation, you would:
✔ Be a welcoming base
✔ Line-manage the Activator (with full support)
✔ Help influence how physical activity is seen, designed and supported locally
You won’t do this alone, Together Active and the wider partnership will provide training, guidance and ongoing support.
If you’re rooted in your community and want to help shape what comes next, we’d love to hear from you.
