Happy Birthday to the lovely Mr A, 79 on 14th January 2026
Mr A worked on the Canals for 30 years. He has a huge collection of scary movies. His favourite shows are ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and ‘Angels’. He also enjoys craft activities and Karaoke.

Happy Birthday to the lovely Ms E, 90 on 4th January 2026
Ms E was a teacher. She enjoys any form of art or craftwork from knitting squares for blankets, making teddy bears, to painting and colouring. Ms E also likes reading the paper and books of quizzes.

The Maples Is Ready For Christmas

Happy Birthday to the lovely Ms J, 97 on 14th December 2025

Ms J was born in Bolton but moved to Bradwell when she was 13 yrs old. She met her husband, Ken, at Westport Lake and they married in 1946. They both worked in the pottery industry, enjoyed holidays in Wales and Scotland, a good singalong in local pubs and dancing. Ms J loved baking, including wedding cakes. She has 3 children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.

Anne worked at Asda, Wolstanton, until she retired at 74. She has travelled to Australia several times and Egypt. Anne loves cats, watching the TV and joining in with the entertainment at The Maples. She loves a nice black coffee.

Happy Birthday to the lovely Ms G, 94 on 22nd November 2025

Ms G and her husband of 70 years have walked all over the UK, but Scotland is their favourite. She loves knitting and making clothes for her family but especially enjoys listening to music as it brings back fond memories of dancing with her husband which they did every week.

Happy Birthday to the lovely Ms M, 85 on 21st October 2025
Ms M was a school cleaner and night-time office cleaner. Born in Stoke to Irish parents and raised a Catholic, she married George on St Patrick’s Day 1962. She loved their holidays to Spain, and she enjoys movies, the TV, craft activities and socialising with the other residents over a hot whiskey.
