🏏 U13 Hardball Cricket Festival 🏏
A huge congratulations to our U13 cricket team, who played their first ever hardball competition together this week!
The squad was made up predominantly of our fantastic Year 7 students, supported by three brilliant Year 8s. The team performed exceptionally well, finishing 2nd in their group and securing an incredible 3 wins from 4 matches.
A special mention must go to Olly S, who captained the team superbly throughout the day. Miss Triner commented on how professional, mature and confident he was in every decision he made. He was brilliantly supported by vice-captain Ted C, who ensured the team remained focused and gave everyone two fantastic leaders to look up to.
There were standout performances all over the field:
⭐ Oscar J was a spinning wizard with the ball.
⭐️ Olly S batter of the competition (WOW)
⭐️ Ted C straight as an arrow bowling our consistent king!
⭐ Harry D bowled arguably the over of the tournament, producing a maiden over and taking a wicket.
⭐ Reuben and Aaron delivered strong all-round performances and provided the reliable foundation the team needed.
⭐ Sophie M proudly represented the girls with some outstanding bowling and fielding displays.
⭐ Noah J played an important role from the sidelines, helping Miss Triner manage and support the team throughout the day.
⭐ Noah SG played his very first hardball match and finished 1 not out, earning huge cheers from players, staff and spectators alike.
⭐ Behind the stumps, Archie W was simply outstanding. You would never have guessed it was his first time keeping wicket! His confidence, skill and determination were invaluable, and we genuinely don’t know where we would have been without him.
Most importantly, every single player represented the school with pride, determination and excellent sportsmanship throughout the day.
We are incredibly proud of you all and cannot wait to see how much you continue to develop and flourish over the coming years.
Well done, team! 🏏👏

🏏 U15 District Cricket Competition 🏏
A fantastic day of cricket for our U15 boys, who represented Sir Thomas Boughey with great pride, determination and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
In their opening game against Madeley, the boys were unfortunately defeated despite some standout performances. Rory H impressed with the bat, whilst George L produced an excellent bowling display. The lads were just left a little short with their batting total and couldn’t quite pull it back in the field.
The second game against NULS was an absolute thriller. NULS required 20 runs from the final two overs and managed to find the boundary at crucial moments to deny us victory. Fin S and Liam P were outstanding in the field, while Rory H retired on 30 after smashing several huge sixes in a brilliant innings.
The boys saved their best performance for last against SJF. Batting first, they posted an impressive 90 runs from just 8 overs, giving themselves a great chance of securing a win. They then backed this up with an outstanding bowling performance, dismissing SJF for just 34 runs. Leon D entertained with some massive sixes, whilst Jack P took key wickets to help seal a comfortable victory.
Although results didn’t always go our way, the boys showed excellent resilience, teamwork and effort throughout the day. To finish with a well-deserved victory was a brilliant reward for their hard work.
So proud of you boys – a fantastic effort all round! 👏🏏

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ These students voluntarily chose to take on the 1500m in their PE lesson on Friday… and they absolutely smashed it! 💪👏
Not only did they complete the challenge, but they did it with huge smiles on their faces from start to finish! 😃
There were plenty of high fives from Miss Triner around the track as they showed fantastic determination, resilience and positivity throughout. 🙌⭐
A brilliant effort from everyone involved – you should all be very proud of yourselves! 🏅💙💛
