Class Three practised their sketching skills today. Their levels of concentration were fantastic and they produced some great artwork.
Today, Class Three enjoyed demonstrating their sewing skills as they began making their phone cases.
Last Friday, all the children in school took part in "Dress up for digits" to help raise money for the NSPCC. The children enjoyed maths themed activities throughout the day and we successfully raised £61! Thank you for all your kind donations.
Unfortunately, due to high winds, we have had to cancel today's Toddler Forest School session. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Class One have been busy making chef’s hats for part of their science topic ‘Little MasterChef's’.
Class 2 conducted an investigation into the optimal temperature to melt chocolate this afternoon! We used thermometers to measure the temperature of the water in the bowls and timed how long it took for the chocolate to melt. The children enjoyed the investigation and enjoyed eating the spare chocolate too!
Today, Class Three enjoyed their trip to The National Memorial Arboretum. They conducted themselves impeccably and represented the school exceptionally well. We all learned lots about World War Two and evacuees.
Class 2 got their hands on some physical computing kits this afternoon. They explored the micro:bits and created some code to make them do different things. They have had enjoyed it and are looking forward to creating their own games to run on them.
Could all our lovely followers please share this post.

Applications are now open for Reception places in September 2022! 😄
Class Three enjoyed their afternoon out in the snow today. We played games, enjoyed a warming fire, went for a winter walk through the woods and learned about the history of our village, school and local church.
Welcome back to school! It has been fabulous welcoming the children back into school today.
Class One have enjoyed creating artwork based on the Great Fire of London. Lots of budding young artists showcasing their fabulous skills.
Happy new year from everyone at The Valley! Did you spot us on the front page of the paper this week?

📚 Get ready for Summer Reading Challenge 2023, Ready, Set, Read!, arriving at your local library this summer. 📚

📚The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children to keep reading during the school summer holidays – and to enjoy anything they like to read! Children aged 4-11 are invited to set a reading goal and collect rewards for their reading.📚

📚We had a visit from Terry today who told us all about it! 📚
✨It’s FREE to take part, and last year 75% of children taking part improved their reading skills over the holidays.✨

✨Find out more at or pop along to your local library to sign the kids up! ✨

Our unconventional sports day on Thursday was a great success! It was lovely to welcome our loved ones into school to take part in hammerthrow, discus, egg and spoon, archery, shot put and welly wangling with us. Take a look at some of these action shots 👀, there was no competitiveness at all from our visitors 🤥🤔😂.
Thank you for coming and joining in with us!

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered to help us make this happen. Thank you to our The Valley School PTFA Oakamoor - we couldn’t have done today without you! What memories we have made for our little ones ♥️ They all looked fantastic!!

A huge thank you to Mrs Stanway and Something Special Cheadle Ltd - SSC Ltd.
With their hard work, we have a brand new football kit for our children to wear during team events from September. Something Special very kindly offered to sponsor the kit for us and I’ll think you will agree that the TMPF colours we have gone for, look very smart indeed. Mrs Stanway did a great job with the ordering and Something Special very kindly agreed to sponsor The Valley and our friends at Dilhorne Endowed Primary School.

Evening The Valley Primary School, Oakamoor folks.

Just a couple of quick notes regarding the Cheadle Carnival on 1st July

School will be recruiting and inviting kids to taken part in the carnival and chance to be on the Valley School Float (provided free by the awesome Swinson Transport in Denston).

The procession will begin at 12pm - the procession goers will need to be ready by 11am at Cheadle School. (details to be provided soon). Finish time hasn’t been confirmed but I imagine it will take about an hour. Feel free to spend some time looking around the Cheadle Carnival afterwards and / or joining us for some chill time drinks afterwards with the family.

The theme is, of course, the greatest showman TBC (you know the album that’s on repeat in your car right now!!). School will give more detail on what is required with regards dressing up etc…

Hope this helps. I will post more info as soon as I get it and Deb will send some info soon. If you have any questions drop me a message or post here.

Big thanks, look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the day!!!

Happy days.

Good afternoon,

We hope you have had a lovely weekend.

In working towards a superb float that will stand out from the rest, we ask for any donations of brightly coloured decorations. The theme for the float is 'The Greatest Showman' and all things carnival/circus. If you have any unwanted brightly coloured bunting/garland, white or red material/curtains, lanterns or anything else you feel would be suitable, please could you send it into school by Friday 23rd June.

May we also remind you that if your child is wanting to be involved, they are asked to wear their costume outlined in the letter already sent out before half term.

As always, any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to approach a member of staff.

🇬🇧We had so much fun celebrating the King’s Coronation 🇬🇧

👑We started by wearing our beautifully decorated crowns to Celebration Assembly and then our head girl Esme and Harry delivered the very kindly donated Coronation mugs to our children. Thank you to the Oakamoor Parish Council for these lovely keepsakes. 👑

🧺 The rain held off long enough for us to enjoy our picnic outside and we ended it by singing the National Anthem 🇬🇧🎵.

🪩 During the afternoon, we all got our dancing shoes on and had a boogie, followed by lots of tasty treats and a film to end the day. 🎥

⭐️Many thanks for the donations of sweet treats.⭐️

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this very special day.
