While some content centres on grooming, skincare, diet and exercise, other parts of the trend can promote questionable advice, extreme practices and unrealistic expectations.

Our latest guide explores key concerns, including:
• Pressure around male appearance and body image
• Misleading or potentially dangerous advice
• Obsessive behaviours and declining self-worth

🎨✨ Self-Portraits with Loose Parts! ✨🎨

This week in Art, our Mickey’s have been exploring lines, shapes and facial features as part of our self-portrait work. 🧑‍🎨👀
We talked about the different shapes and lines we can see in our faces and then used a fantastic range of natural and loose-part materials to create our own portraits! 🍂🌰🪵
The children carefully selected materials to represent eyes, noses, mouths, ears and hair, thinking about where each feature belongs and experimenting with different shapes, sizes and textures. ❤️
This activity was a wonderful opportunity to develop our creativity, imagination and self-expression, while also strengthening fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and vocabulary as we talked about our choices.
We loved seeing how every portrait was completely unique – just like each of our Mickey’s! 🥰🎨🍁

🍃👩‍🍳 Mud Kitchen Magic! 👩‍🍳🍃
Our Mickey’s have been busy in our mud kitchen today, getting creative and making some very special dishes! 🥣✨

They added lots of natural ingredients including grass, petals, leaves, sticks and mud to create their very own pretend food. 🌿🌸🍂

The children used their imaginations to mix, stir, scoop and serve up their delicious creations… although Mrs Brennan was the lucky customer who got to taste them all! 😂👩‍🍳

It was fantastic to see the children using their imaginations, developing language, practising fine motor skills and working together as they played. 💕🌱

✏️✨ Making Marks ✨✏️

Our Nursery children have loved having some quiet time to sit down and explore making marks on a big sheet of paper! 🖍️💭

It was a lovely opportunity for the children to slow down, concentrate and enjoy expressing themselves through their marks. ❤️

As they moved their arms across the large paper, they were developing their gross motor skills through big arm movements, as well as strengthening their fine motor skills and hand control. 💪✋

We loved watching the different lines, shapes, circles and patterns the children created! 🎨🖍️✨
