Sports Leader success!
We are incredibly proud of our Sports Leader applicants who recently visited Northwood to support the Stoke primary schools athletics event.
Throughout the day, our students helped to run a variety of activities and events, showing fantastic leadership, organisation, and communication skills. They worked confidently with younger pupils, demonstrating enthusiasm, responsibility, and a positive attitude at all times.
This was a brilliant opportunity for them to gain valuable experience and showcase their potential as future Sports Leaders. Well done to all involved – you were excellent ambassadors for our school!

🎢 Celebrating Our Students’ Success!
This week, 120 of our Young Carers and attendance prize winners enjoyed a fantastic trip to Alton Towers—made even better by the beautiful sunshine! ☀️
Students had an amazing day, with many experiencing a theme park for the very first time. It was wonderful to see so many showing real bravery, especially as they tackled their first ever roller coasters! 🎢
We are so proud of their efforts and thrilled to be able to reward their great attendance in the three weeks on the lead up to May Half Term
🎧 What’s next?
In the summer term, we will be celebrating all students who have achieved our attendance target of 96% or higher with a Silent Disco event! Keep an eye on our social media channels for more details coming soon.
👏 Well done to all involved—we look forward to celebrating even more successes!

🌞Hot Weather Update🌞
With the warm weather forecast this week, students do not need to wear or bring their blazers to school.
Please ensure that all other elements of the school uniform are worn as usual.
We also encourage students to: 💧
Bring a refillable water bottle.
Apply sun cream before school (and bring some if needed)
Thank you fore you support in helping to stay comfortable and safe during the heat.

The Year 7 team represented the school brilliantly at the City Super 8’s Athletics Competition, finishing an impressive 6th out of 14 schools. Throughout the event, students demonstrated excellent effort, determination, and resilience across all disciplines. From track sprints to field events, every competitor gave their best and supported one another, creating a strong sense of team spirit.
What stood out most was the positive attitude shown by the group. Pupils approached each event with enthusiasm and focus, regardless of the challenge, and displayed great sportsmanship towards both teammates and other schools. Their willingness to step outside their comfort zones and contribute to the team’s overall success was particularly commendable.
Competing against strong opposition, finishing in the top half was a fantastic achievement. The experience will no doubt build confidence and motivation for future competitions.
Well done to all involved!

👏 Future Leaders in Action! 👏
We are incredibly proud of some of our Year 9 Sports Leader applicants who recently visited Willows Primary School as part of their interview process.
The students planned and delivered a range of fun, engaging sports activities for the primary pupils, showcasing their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. ⚽🏀🎯
It was fantastic to see their confidence grow as they led sessions, supported younger students, and created such a positive and energetic environment. They truly represented our school values and demonstrated exactly what it means to be a sports leader.
A huge well done to everyone involved – you should be very proud of yourselves! 🌟

U13's Rounders Success!
Our Under 13 rounders team travelled to Meridian this week to compete in the South of the City rounders competition—and what a fantastic performance it was!
The girls played exceptionally well throughout, winning all six of their matches to be crowned overall champions. 🏆
As a result, they will now go on to represent the South of the City in the Stoke-on-Trent final this July—an incredible achievement!
There were too many standout individual performances to mention, but a special well done goes to the three Year 7 students who played up an age group and more than held their own.
👏 Well done to all players for your determination, resilience and commitment. We are extremely proud of your achievement!
