🍉 Watermelon is a summer staple, but are you preparing it safely?

Before cutting into a watermelon, rinse the outside under running water.

Although you don't eat the rind, bacteria on the surface can be transferred to the fruit when you slice through it.

To keep watermelon fresh and safe:

- Wash the outside before cutting
- Use clean hands, knives and chopping boards
- Keep pre-cut watermelon chilled, and don't leave it out for more than 2 hours on a warm day (4 hours maximum in cooler conditions)
