💛 This isn’t just a counselling job… it’s a chance to change a life. 💛
📍 Stoke-on-Trent & Leek, Staffordshire
đź•’ 32 hours per week | Part-time
đź“… Start date: July 2026
Some young people don’t have the safety, stability, or support they deserve.
That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a compassionate, experienced Counsellor to join our children’s residential homes—someone who can offer understanding, consistency, and a safe space for young people who have experienced trauma and disruption.
This role is about more than sessions and notes.
It’s about building trust with a young person who’s learned not to trust.
It’s about helping them feel heard, valued, and safe—sometimes for the first time.
It’s also about supporting the adults around them—because strong, supported staff create better outcomes for young people.
🌱 In this role, you will:
• Provide 1:1 therapeutic support to young people in care
• Deliver therapeutic group work
• Lead and embed a trauma-informed, nurturing environment
• Provide therapeutic supervision and reflective support to staff teams
• Help staff better understand and respond to complex behaviours
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals
• Be part of a team that truly cares
💬 We’re looking for someone who:
• Leads with empathy, patience, and kindness
• Understands the impact of trauma and attachment
• Can connect with young people who may struggle to engage
• Feels confident supporting and guiding staff through reflection
• Brings warmth, humour, and authenticity to their work
• Wants to be part of something meaningful
🎓 You’ll need:
• A Diploma (or higher) in Counselling/Psychotherapy
• BACP (or equivalent) registration
• Experience working with children and young people
✨ What you’ll gain:
• The opportunity to make a genuine, lasting difference
• A supportive team that values therapeutic care
• Company pension, free parking & referral programme
• Potential to grow into a permanent role
This is an 8-month maternity cover position (with the potential for a permanent position) —but the impact you make could last a lifetime.
👉 If you feel called to this work, we’d love to hear from you.
