Moorgate Primary Academy were delighted to welcome Tamworth’s MP, Sarah Edwards, for a special visit this week.
Organised by proactive parent LAC member, Zoe Schnepp, the visit gave pupils the opportunity to share their recent experiences at Birmingham University and their ongoing partnership with the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Over the past three years, Moorgate has placed a strong emphasis on enriching its science curriculum — including regular visits to university labs and participation in an 18-month plastics project.
During her visit, Sarah also met with members of the school council to discuss women’s rights and how voting for women has evolved over the last century, sparking thoughtful and inspiring conversations.
We are incredibly proud of the pupils at Moorgate Primary Academy, who represented their school with confidence and enthusiasm throughout the visit.

All Saints CofE Primary Academy Bednall, one of our 21 academies, may be small in size but mighty in spirit. The academy is deeply rooted in its tight-knit community and has been since 1856. Leaders have high aspirations for the setting and pupils benefit from small class sizes which allows the academy to provide a very personal and nurturing approach to learning.
We’re thrilled to share that the school has received a generous £1,000 donation from The Harper Group! The funds will contribute to the construction of the new outdoor ‘Hollins Hideout’ building—giving children a covered space for their beloved Wildlife Wednesdays and forest-school sessions (a nature-based learning programme that the children absolutely love). This donation adds to the £5,000 already raised by the school community.
The cheque was presented following the successful development of the Cooper’s Meadow housing project in Bednall, led by The Harper Group in partnership with Housing Plus Group—so it’s extra special that the investment is now coming full circle to benefit local children and their outdoor education.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this vision, together we’re helping our pupils to connect with nature, learn outside, and grow in confidence.
