What a fantastic Sunday morning at junior parkrun!
A huge thank you to everyone involved in helping make the event such a success. Seeing so many of our children proudly representing Excalibur Primary School, encouraging one another, showing determination and simply enjoying being active was incredibly special.
We are so proud of every pupil who took part — whether they ran, jogged, walked or cheered others on. The atmosphere was amazing and the sea of blue and white certainly made an impact! 🏃♂️🏃♀️
A massive thank you to Sarah Price and the whole junior parkrun team for organising such a welcoming and inspiring event. Your encouragement, support and passion for getting children active truly shines through.
Events like this remind us that fitness, resilience, teamwork and community spirit matter just as much outside the classroom as they do inside it.
Well done Team Excalibur — you were brilliant! ⭐

It was brilliant to be able to celebrate all the children who completed The Killer Mile this week. They took on Mow Cop’s legendary 25% incline and lived to tell the tale!
We look forward to turning Clough Hall blue on Sunday 10th May, as it's Excalibur's Primary Junior Park Run Takeover. Go to https://www.parkrun.org.uk/cloughhall-juniors/ to register your child.

The children in Year 5 made a great start to their next DT project - Bridges. After investigating different types of bridge, they made prototype truss bridges out of straws. Next week they'll be using wood.

Year 5 made a great start to Science Week yesterday with a visit from Dr Halliday.
Dr Halliday is a Clinical Trials Manager at Keele University. She explained to the children how she is qualified for the role and how clinical trials work. The children then took part in their own trial to establish whether they could tell the difference between branded and non-branded chocolate digestives. They completed a blind taste test and we look forward to hearing the results!

It was time for our termly Rock Steady concert again this week. Great to see the children growing in confidence and developing their musicianship.

Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic day out in Liverpool. They visited the Planetarium at The World Museum and the Walker Art Gallery which is full of artworks from 16th Century to the modern day. Their enthusiasm was a joy to watch and their behaviour was exemplary. Well done Year 5!

Last night the Excalibur School Choir had another fantastic evening at Young Voices in the Co-Op Arena Live Manchester. They all sang their socks off and made us very proud!
