The online landscape is changing rapidly. Are you keeping up?
The internet is changing fast, and so are the risks facing young people.
Iโm running a 2-hour online session on 1st September at 10am looking at some of the online subcultures and extremist ideologies that professionals are increasingly encountering.
If you work with children or young people, this session is designed to give you practical knowledge that you can take straight back into your role.
If youโd like to join me, you can book your place using the link below.
Oh lord,
I've joined TikTok....what's happening to me๐คฃ
I just wanted to follow up on a post I put out there a few weeks back.
Having worked in prevent with the highest levels of risk. Something I have observed is a lack of support for those working to safeguard young people and adults.
That's why I have created a digital prevent referral tool. It supports staff to record concerns, consider relevant risk factors and build confidence in their judgement.
This tool has been created using feedback from safeguarding professionals in various sectors, as well as my own observations.

๐Many of you know I am passionate about preventing people from being drawn in to violent extremist groups. I have trained thousands of frontline and senior leadership teams. I have also led on the prevent referrals, specifically in the education space.
๐พOne thing that has always frustrated me, however, is the poor referral system. Everyday safeguarding professionals are faced with behaviours or concerns that could indicate vulnerability to radicalisation. Sometimes the biggest challenge is knowing whether there is enough evidence to complete a strong referral, and secure the support that you know the individual needs. That uncertainty can lead to delays, inconsistency or unnecessary referrals.
๐พI have therefore developed a digital prevent referral tool that guides professionals through a structured decision making process. It helps them record evidence, consider relevant risk factors, and build confidence in their judgement. There are thousands of schools, college's, universities, foster care agencies, and other organisations across the UK with prevent responsibilities. They all need practical, consistent tools that support staff to make informed decisions.
๐พIf you want to be the first to know when the tool is released please add your email to the attached google form. Also, if there is something you would like to see included in the form, please also add these comments. Your details will be kept private and only used for the purpose explained above.
