It was great, as it always is, to have Shihan Billy Griffiths come down and visit us at Kahen-sei Martial Arts Academy.

Billy was one of my first instructors in Jujitsu, so no matter how many years pass, it’s always special to have him walk through the doors of my own dojo and have a catch-up.
Even better, Shihan Billy will be coming back in the next couple of weeks to take a class for us, which I’m really looking forward to.

Funny how martial arts comes full circle sometimes — from being one of his students all those years ago, to now welcoming him into the academy I’ve built.
Always a pleasure, Shihan. See you again soon. 🙏🥋

🥋 GREAT 1:1 SESSION WITH LIAM 🥋

Another great Kahen-sei Jujitsu 1:1 session today with Liam from the UK Shootboxing Association . 👊🔥

Today we worked through the Kansetsu-waza from the Red Belt syllabus, breaking down the techniques and focusing on control, positioning and smooth application.

Some really solid work from Liam today and great to see the techniques coming together. 💪🥋

Lee put on a fantastic seminar — incredibly informative, professional and packed with knowledge. It was great to experience a completely different side of martial arts and learn how techniques, movement, timing and reactions are adapted for the screen.

At Kahen-sei Martial Arts, we’re always looking for opportunities to learn from others, experience something different and bring that knowledge back to our students. Martial arts is far too big to stay in one lane.

The standard of kicking was seriously high level — great control, speed, power and technique throughout. 👊💥🦵
