🏔️ High Peaks 🥊
Sophie’s Snowdon Ascent
Sophie officially conquered Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon), but let’s be real—the true peak of the day happened at the summit sign. Forget the grueling hike, the unpredictable Welsh weather, and the burning calves... because once she reached the top, it was time for the ultimate celebratory kick pic 📸👟.

🥊 Tonight’s Shootboxing Session: Tactics, Timing, and the Shark Tank 🥊
We didn't just train tonight; we tested our limits.
🧠 Phase 1: The Art of the Fake
The focus of our technical blocks tonight was all about misdirection. We worked heavily on fakes and feints—learning how to sell a shot to trigger a reaction, open up a guard, and create clean angles for the real damage. In shootboxing, a good fake doesn't just open up a striking combination; it sets up the perfect opportunity to transition into a throw or takedown when the competitor least expects it.
⚔️ Phase 2: Putting it into Practice
Once the technical mechanics were locked in, it was time to transition to live sparring in the ring. The goal wasn't just to throw heat, but to actively apply the fakes we just drilled under pressure. It was great to see everyone staying composed, reading their partner's movements, and working with high-level fight IQ.
🦈 Phase 3: The Shark Tank
To finish the night, we pushed the conditioning and mental toughness straight into the red zone with a classic Shark Tank.
One martial artist stays in the center of the ring, completely exhausted, while a fresh rotation of teammates keeps coming at them round after round. This is where champions are made—when the body wants to quit, but the mind refuses.
Incredible grit shown by everyone who stepped into the center tonight. You showed exactly what this academy is about.

Sparring is a classroom, not a fight. 🥊
It’s easy to get caught up in the adrenaline, but the true purpose of stepping onto the mats to spar is to test your skills, experiment with new techniques, and help your training partners grow.
Here is what real sparring is all about:
Control over power: It is about sharpening your timing, distance, and defense—not about trying to overpower the person in front of you.
Leaving the ego at the door: Getting caught with a clean shot isn't a loss; it's a lesson. Finding a gap in your guard during training is exactly what you want, so you can fix it before competition.
Building each other up: Dedicated martial artists look after their training partners. The goal is to push each other to the next level, ensuring everyone leaves the mats sharper and safer than when they stepped on.
Next time you gear up, don't worry about "winning" the round. Pick one specific skill you want to test, focus on your technique, and treat the round as a masterclass in growth. 🥋🔥

Bringing the Heat: Outstanding Work on the MasTonight
Wow. What an incredible, packed-out session tonight! The energy in the academy was absolutely electric from the second the warm-up started.
Even with a busy floor and the summer heat, every single martial artist dug deep and showed exactly what dedication looks like.
Tonight was all about precision, focus, and grit:
Combination Work: We pushed the pace, focusing on fluid transitions, sharp ex*****on, and flawless timing.
Syllabus Focus: With grading and major events on the horizon, everyone locked in. The attention to detail on the technical requirements was outstanding across all levels.
It takes a lot of discipline to maintain that level of focus when the room is packed and the intensity is high. You all pushed through the sweat, supported your training partners, and left it all on the mats.
Massive respect to everyone who turned up and put the work in tonight. This is how progress is made!
Rest up, hydrate, and we’ll see you back on the mats for the next session. 🥊💪
