🌟 Year 1 have continued to learn about life in the 1950s during our Topic lessons this week. We used fact files to investigate shopping, transport, entertainment and jobs from the era before writing down some of the most interesting facts we discovered. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about how people lived in the past and comparing it to modern life! 📖🕰️

A huge well done to all of the children who represented Goldenhill at the Cross Country race. You all showed great effort, resilience and determination throughout the race. One of the girls got 3rd out of all of the girls. Overall the girls finished 3rd out of all of the other schools who attended.

This week the Early Years unit have created some fantastic work.
As part of our maths lessons we have sorted objects into sets.
We have also been experimenting with colours to make different art pieces.
As part of our topic 'Me and My Community', we have looked at the people who help us. To show our appreciation to the people who help us we have created Thank you cards.

🎤 Year 2 are ready to ROCK their times tables! 🎤

What a brilliant first session on Times Table Rock Stars! 🌟 The children learned how to log on, created their rock star characters and started putting their multiplication skills to the test with the 2, 3, 5 and 10 times tables. 🎸

They absolutely loved getting started and showed such a fantastic attitude to their learning!

Meet the class pets of St Bernard’s Academy in this entertaining graphic novel!

There's Ken, the melodramatic stick insect; a cynical rabbit called Hutch; and Mrs Sprinkles, an excitable guinea pig who loves to cover everything in glitter.

The animals are delighted when Phil the cat announces the arrival of a new pet to replace rodent Mikey, who had a fatal encounter with a javelin on sports day. Alarmingly, however, the newcomer is a fearsome snake with an insatiable appetite.

Having already eaten the headteacher, he swiftly devours Herbert the hamster, which sends the remaining pets into a panicked frenzy.

They hastily devise a series of ridiculous plans to get rid of their menacing new classmate, from hypnosis and snake charming to dressing up as the snake’s mother and luring him to the zoo. But can a group of eccentric, cuddly creatures really defeat such a formidable reptile?

This hilarious comic book is packed full of lively, bright orange illustrations, speech bubbles and captions, which create pace and drama.

Lots of witty details can be found within the artwork and the daft storyline is sure to elicit plenty of laughter, as well as the occasional gasp of horror.

💛✨ This week in PSHE, Year 1 enjoyed a fabulous lesson all about appreciation, kindness, and positivity. We spent time talking about the special people in our lives and how we can show them kindness and care. The children drew pictures of people they appreciate and wrote thoughtful, kind words about them. It was lovely to see them reflecting on the important relationships in their lives and celebrating the people who make them feel happy and supported! 🥰🌟
