*** NEW TESTIMONIAL ***
All good training courses will have a clear agenda, well though out objectives and put learners at the heart of the experience. What someone takes away from a training event is very personal to them. This is what Zoe Conning had to say about her reasons and experience of attending an training programme
'I can highly recommend Claire! At the time of attending one of her workshops, I felt super stressed after just starting my own business, lacked clarity on what tasks I needed to complete on a day-to-day basis and had limited organisation / structure to my business.
I decided to attend the training programme because of the cost vs what I would get out of it; the course was great value and I gained so much from it; from becoming a leader vs a manager and how being a leader doesn't mean you have to be a 'hard faced' leader with no emotion. It made such a positive impact on how I now view running a business and being a leader for my staff. I'd highly recommend speaking with Claire and attending any of her events!'
If you want to become a better leader for your people, you clients and your business, then get in touch for a chat
I'm all about client and what is said in the room, stays in the room. So when someone agrees to shares openly about their reasons for attending a training session, I don’t take it lightly.
This is what Natalie Hewitt, Director of Hewitt&Carr Services had to say about her reasons for attending and the impact that it has had on her.
'Things were very stressful having three businesses and heading into the COVID pandemic, I was finding the pressures of keeping everything afloat and not letting any of the staff down unmanageable. I needed to get a better understanding of me … so that I could be a better me for everybody else.
The stresses are still there but I find dealing with them more manageable. I now understand why I react in the ways I do, and I know what I need to do to help others. The business has changed and grown. I have taken a step back in places and prioritised my time and my efforts.
If you have never heard of emotional intelligence than I advise you have a conversation with Claire. She is so knowledgeable and can clearly communicate what is already in your head but in a way that you understand, in a way that you can utilise to improve not only yourself but the people you live and work with.'
Thanks for sharing Nat, you are a truly inspiring leader

Isn’t life funny?
Everything going well and then ‘BAM’; a message, a phone call, an unexpected email that hits you right in the chest and you know you can’t hold back the tears of frustration, the colourful metaphors or that sick feeling.
Depending on the context of the situation, the aftermath can brings waves of embarrassment, shame and feelings of failure.
How you respond is pretty personal, but here are some suggestions of what you can do in the moment:
• Take a breath – steady the flow of oxygen into your lungs
• Nurture yourself – step away from the situation if you can; go for a walk, cuddle the dog. Do something which makes you feel good but without the self-sabotage
• Speak to someone – a friend, a colleague, a loved one who will listen without judgement
Above all, please dont ignore how you feel and don’t shy away from the emotional and physiological experience you are having. It is when we suppress or ignore how we feel that we create layers of dis-ease that can cause us to behave in ways that do not serve us or others well.
Developing our emotional intelligence isn’t all smooth sailing. It isn’t always a pretty sight. It can be teary, gut wrenching and pretty uncomfortable.
And that’s ok. And you’re ok too.

It's tempting to want to keep everyone else happy, but remember your own self worth and don't lose yourself in the mix.
What does it mean to have a growth mindset? This video is a great example of how it works. This dad is totally focused on enjoying spending time with his daughter. He continually tries to get better, he never quits and he never says he can't do something.
What do you do that demonstrates a growth mindset?

Why is it important your car is MOT'd on an annual basis? Aside from it being something we are legally required to do, there are more subtle benefits :
It proves the vehicle is safe to drive to a particular standard
We can proactively take measures to ensure that any potential issues are raised early and resolved
It provides peace of mind to us and other road users on the road that the vehicle is not dangerous
In the same way that we would always be vigilant about the health of the vehicle we drive, we should also be conscious of applying similar standards to the approach taken with maintaining the quality of our businesses interventions.
Staying on top of this activity, like maintaining your car, requires a bit of effort, but is worth it in the long run when:
The quality of the training remains relevant to the learners and operational needs
Businesses are able to respond quickly and can upskill colleagues consistently and with ease and to clear standards
Standards are maintained that keep our customers and staff safe at all times
We can add to, remove and modify the learning offered without having to start from scratch
If you'd like a about the MOT of the learning and development in your business then get in touch for a consultation.

How often when we are asked ‘How are you?’ by someone, do we automatically respond with ‘I'm fine’?
Often we say it without thinking about how we really feel – it isn’t the full story, or we don’t have the energy, can’t be bothered or don’t have the words to explain how we are really feeling.
Checking in regularly with our feelings is an important part of developing our and one tool that I use on regular basis from PSI Services LLC is The Feelings Wheel.
Learning to notice and articulate our feelings and emotions as we go through our day, is a great way of identifying any early warning signs of stress. By becoming more consciously aware of how we are feeling, we are more likely to take steps which will prevent it escalating.
The Feelings Wheel is split into 4 zones; Energise, Renew, Stress and Burnout. Each zone has suggested descriptors of feelings that could be associated with each zone – although you are free to use your own as well. Look at the Feelings Wheel and ask yourself:
What percentage of time do you spend in each of the 4 zones?
What causes you to Stress or Burnout?
How do you Renew and yourself?
