We recently welcomed back a Martec legend, Graham Simpson.
Graham started with us in 1997 as a placement officer, and later became an assessor for apprenticeships up to Level 3, as well as a welfare & equal opportunities officer.
With his signature MX5, he worked across Martec sites on Cemetery Road in Silverdale, two sites on King Street, as well as on the London Road campus during his 12 years working here.
A big part of Graham’s role involved visiting garages we worked with across Newcastle and Stoke-on-Trent, ensuring learners were being looked after whilst maintaining positive relationships with the garages.
“This job was the most rewarding I ever had,” he said.
“It’s nice to work with the youngsters and give them a helping hand. I actually enjoyed it when we had inspectors, as we could show them all the great work we were doing and get advice.”
We loved welcoming Graham back to the London Road campus, meeting new and familiar faces.
